Default Villager wins right to build private boat dock at $1.4 million home

from the "other" on-line newspaper---------

His "next-door neighbors are" Mr.X "the former chairman of the Village Center Community Development District Board of Supervisors and former director of purchasing for The Villages, and Mr.Y, " the "chairman of The Villages Health."

Mr. Z pleaded his case and "said the neighbor was able to build a boat dock without jumping through the hoops being required by CDD 8."
================================================

No big worry about wetland there, it seems. But no real surprise either.
Moving along.

His home backs on Lake Miona which is not owned by The Villages. Lake Sumter is owned by The Villages. He and his neighbors made wise investments in buying or building in that area.

BUT to be fair, all of our homes in ALL of The Villages have gone up in price.

AND...He and his neighbors worked hard for their financial success. No story here. Nothing bad happened.

Yes, but don’t you love it when someone takes a million dollars and drops it in a lake?

Wasn’t those trees cut down couple years ago backed up to lake Miona? I don’t think he owns land all way to water edge?

I’d like it better if they dropped it in my bank account. Laughing.

The lake is used for enjoyment. If they own property on the lake you should be able to use it for their enjoyment. Glad he got permission.

Several homes on Lake Miona already have piers, rather long ones. They have riparian rights to have them, like just about every other lake and river in the country. The Villages has a water ski club that uses the lake. If I were 30 years younger and had a house on a lake I'd want a pier and boat too.

He didn't "drop a million bucks into the lake". That's the value of the house. And he didn't do anything to wetlands. There's only a small grass patch between him and the water, and that's what he got permission to cross. They are a very nice, considerate couple and tremendous neighbors. I wish every Villager were as giving as these two!

What exactly is he "worry" about wetlands? A private dock is going to damage a lake? Lakes all over the world have docks.
