Default Weeding in my landscaping beds

:Hello,
I am looking for a service that will pull weeds in my rock beds, for a one time fee. I have been away, and it was neglected for several months. Any recommendations for a reliable service? I do have a lawn service, but doesn’t pull weeds.

I share your pain buddy, unless you are a full time resident, who can spend about a half an hour weekly pulling weeds, they will forever take over your Florida garden. There is no way you can show up after being away for a couple months and get the dam things under control without nasty chemicals. We absolutely hate using roundup, or other similar products, but have finally succumbed to the reality that if we want a relatively weed free garden, they need to be chemically nuked with nasty stuff. We found a lawn guy that will also nuke our weeds once a month and are weed problems are finally somewhat under control. The only problem now is that we are afraid to go into are toxic weed free garden.

This actually works, as good as roundup. Need sun to activate it, wont be a problem.
1 Gallon Vinegar/1 or 2 cups Salt/some dish soap.

Vinegar with water in a spray bottle will kill weeds without being so "toxic".
Just don't get it on your good plants.

I'm here full-time, and I do my nearby snowbird neighbors front yards and drive-ways just to keep the neighborhood from looking grown over, so I know what you mean.
I guess the monthly yard service is the best you'll do since you don't live next door to me!

I haven't had any weeds since I shut off the sprinklers to the Plant section of the lawn from Dec. to Feb., as advised by the landscaping company. During the summer, our lawn service just sprays them with something akin to Roundup but probably safer. I used to pick the weeds diligently each year but busted a vein on my hand doing it.

There are weed services advertised in the Daily Sun that just pull weeds and do nothing else, chemical free but not free labor.

Up North you can buy washed gravel that won't grow weeds but here all the gravel has dirt in it. So I made a screen and washed my stones. A lot of hard work but very few weeds.

We use Choice Maintenance while here and while gone. They do an excellent job and are reasonable. 352–502-2880

You are a wonderful neighbor and much more generous with your time than I would be. When we were seasonal residents and owned a patio villa, we paid companies to cut the lawn, spray for pests, trim shrubs and trees, fertilize and weed the flower beds. IMHO, anyone who owns an additional home should pay to have it kept up, including weeding the beds. That should not be up to the neighbors to do to keep the neighborhood looking maintained.

An endless problem. Welcome to Florida. As ex New Yorker's, I wonder quietly why we do not have any dandelions.

No matter what you do, you will have some weeds. You can pick it clean you go out in a day or three and you will find more.

Many choices-landscape fabric and stones. You cannot use tools so hand weeding on your hands and knees.

We have pine straw. You will see the people who care for far larger expanses than most of us use it. It is inexpensive and you can use long handled tools to cut the weeds from their roots. Talk to your weeds. A few gotchas helps. A hoe that fits you, with a properly
cared for wooden handle and it is far more effective than some pretty tool designed to sell. To work, is secondary.

Chemicals? I use preen to prevent weeds from coming up mixed in with plants I want to keep. Putting down stuff like Roundup. Besides links to cancer, you need to wait for the weed to die-a couple of days. One gotcha and it is done. Immediate result.
