Russ
First game I ever played was last year --- hence beginner?
Course was a par 3 and probably one of the easist courses in TV (Chula Vista). Par 28 / score 38 with six strokes on one hole (the sand trap). No I'm not a great athelete but I do like running and used to do fair in competition for my age group and eeked out few running trophys each year until 3 years ago due to injury. I'm just now starting back running. I see in another post you'll be here late April. Hope to see you.

Bernie - we'd make a great fit. I also run for fitness (need to do more!). I'm currently a 11.3 USGA index. I'll be there in TV starting on April 26th. If we can get together for a round on a executive or championship course that would be great. I'd love to play with someone from TOTV while I'm down there.

PS - I was just joking about the lies and cheating. I assumed it was a par 3 course although as any golfer knows they can be real challenging as well - just not long!

Bernie, I'm confused, one over par would be a score of 29.

Well, that's a horse of a different color. But bogey golf is still admirable for any beginner.

No wonder I'm getting some well deserved flak. I meant to say I averaged 1 over par for every hole except the sand trap. 10 over par for the game. Thank you for pointing this out. Gee can't a beginner use the other scoring method?

Russ
I'll be glad to play a round of golf when you come down. Also now you just gave me some more motivation to keep up the running.

Hey Bernie, no flak intended, just trying to figure out just what your score was. As Russ pointed out bogey golf (9 over) is a good score. I've been golfing over 40 years and am happy on any given day shooting bogey golf. Keep up the good work. Wish I was there in April to join you. GN

Today, Sunday
Waited around for our son and his wife to show up to our house. Watched Tiger Woods. When he won gave up waiting and went to Glenview CC for dinner. There was a singer there. We sat in the bar area and ordered dinner. My husbands steak was so tough he could not cut it. Sent it back and got a very good steak. I had french dip slidders and they were great!!! Son and his wife joined us at the CC and we had good time. It is ashame steak was bad first time but they did fix it.
