Or do those 70,000 not mean as much because the media hasn’t told you to be upset about them??? |

Blackbird45, Another unvaccinated talk show host, Phil Valentine, Nashville, died of Covid yesterday. Near the end of his life, he was sending word that he regretted not getting the vaccine and also regretted discouraging his many listeners from getting the vaccine. (I hope they are paying attention to his tragic message.) His story is all over the news this morning. These people did not have to die. |

Happy that The Sharon is back. Savannah Center doesn't cut it as a performing arts center.
Sad that covid is back in force. Get vaccinated! |

I am aware that Phil Valentine, Nashville, died, but there was less coverage on his dead.
As far as children we have to do what ever we can do to protect all children. If there is a tool to save 70,000 use it. There is a thing that we can do to protect some of these children from the virus. Phil Valentine and Dick Farrel not only took over beds in the hospitals, but the mere fact they were news worthy means they must have had a following. So we have no idea how many of there follower ended up in hospitals, following their lead. |

The oft-quoted stat that 90% of new Covid cases are the unvaccinated is not true. The majority of new cases are among the vaccinated. Please turn off your TV and do some reading. Thanks.

The NYT, WaPo, Tampa Bay Times, WSJ, CNN, USA Today, and CDC have all reported that over 90% of Covid hospitalizations are unvaccinated. Unless you are making some claim about the positive tests in which case it would be even more useful to see where your data is coming from since I haven't yet found where those statistics are being aggregated.

Also, type in "Covid cases among the vaccinated? in your search engine and read some of the articles. Hopefully, you do not use Google, because they censor. Finally, I was told that the CDC does not even count Covid cases among the vaccinated, which caused Greg Jarrett on Fox News to quote the 90% unvaccinated nonsense. |

Paul Craig Roberts - Wikipedia Fox is NOT a good National Station to have really respected medical experts. But neither are the other two either. Johns Hopkins is completely trustworthy for facts about Covid. Also Boston General.

Facts have a funny way of getting in the way of some peoples narratives. Fact: hospitalizations from COVID are over 90% unvaccinated. Deaths of vaccinated from COVID is extremely rare. Children continue to have overwhelming mild cases and very rare hospitalization and almost no deaths. The original post was another attempt to shame everyone for getting on with their lives and enjoying the time we have left.
If you are not vaccinated you should get vaccinated. If you can’t take the vaccine for whatever reason you should be extremely careful and take all the precautions possible to not be exposed. |

Duck Duck Go and Google seem to provide the same collection of sources including CDC, NBS, MSNBC, and KFF. The only entry I saw that disputed the 90% was from Wisconsin and that article claimed it was only 77% which does NOT say that most new cases are vaccinated. "If you don't count it then that's proof it isn't true!" No. Wisconsin appears to have tried to count. That article provides proof that it is not 90%, it is only 77%. Even then, you are arguing about whether vaccinated people get exposed to the virus. They do, no question about it, and most of them probably aren't even aware. But do those who are vaccinated and exposed become ill, fill hospitals, and die? THOSE numbers are collected and they are incredibly small.

Four people I know well are now searching for tests to see if the cough and weakness they have is Covid...Here in The Villages.
Just read this from the online news; "There were 539 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed for the week of Aug. 13 to 19 in Sumter County, according to data released by the Florida Department of Health. The COVID-19 new case positivity rate has climbed to 19.3 percent in Sumter County. There were also 742 vaccinated for the same time period in the county. The vaccination rate in Sumter County is 71 percent, and some officials in The Villages have said the higher-than-normal vaccination rate has allowed life to be a bit more “normal” in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown where there are no restrictions at recreation facilities and no mask requirements. However, some businesses in The Villages are asking customers to wear masks."
