It is hard for me to feel negative about this place. In fact I LOVE the movie Pollyanna.
I am convinced that if there were no flags it is because the owners are gone or they feel just as loving and supportive of this country as those who put flags in the ground. Perhaps their back is out and the bending over this year is very painful to put in and pull out those flags and they don't have a place to fly the regular big cloth flag. Perhaps they aren't someone who flies the flag but they always put their hand over their heart and get tears in their eyes when the National Anthem is played. There are lots of people who still love Christmas but don't put up a tree. Who knows? The Shadow doesn't post anymore.

I had my 15 flags up yesterday. Just 5 today though. There are some houses that had them for Flag Day, others did not. Could be that some people are away on vacation or other kinds of trips.
Hopefully, there will be quite a bit more up for the Fourth of July. |

I wonder how much of the (literal) flag waving is heartfelt and how much is keeping up with the Joneses? I didn't put stick flags in my yard before I moved here and don't do so now, but entire neighborhood participating seems like at least some residents must just be going along to get along. I'm not saying it's wrong; just wondering. Same with color-coated driveways since I didn't know that was a thing until we moved here.
