Default What has happened recently that made you glad you live here?

Today I played golf with eight women and had lunch afterwards with them.

It was chilly today and the warm ups felt good, but it was a nice change from the very hot summer weather. In our foursome was a beautiful woman who will be ninety next year and could she hit the ball!! Not only was she a very good golfer, but made quite a fashion statement in her Doris Day hat...and on top of that she was easy to know and clever and kind too and VERY funny!!!.

Sometimes at 70 I allow myself to feel old, but today I saw that many good years await us here. Most of the women in our group I had not met before, but chatting and listening at lunch to their thoughts was so interesting that at the end I felt I had made a group of new friends. Everyone that lives here has a life story and so much accumulated information and experience that being with people I had not met before is like unwrapping wonderful presents. And being with people I know feels so comfortable. There is a lot to be said for being grown up.

So glad to be here with all of you in Lower Paradise.

And we are glad you are here Gracie! Missed you at Crispers today. It was a lovely day on the patio and enjoyed meeting some new totv'ers. This weather and all the beautiful landscaping is enough to make us happy we are here!

I wasn't going to open this until someone responded, because I don't live there yet and I had nothing to contribute.

Gracie, this is such a lovely sentiment and makes me want to get down there that much sooner. I LOVE my girlfriend time and now that I'm retired and the rest of my friends are not... I don't have as much of that as I would like.

I'm so glad you made new friends today!

Thank you for asking that question. Today, I was one of those lucky ones who got to enjoy the fresh air, the smiling and loving companionship of friends and an enjoyable outdoor lunch accompanied by talk, laughter and a sense of relaxation and peace. I returned home, comfortably tired and content knowing that I could do the same thing tomorrow and the day after and the day after.... Since moving here, I've met more people, with such diverse backgrounds, it's amazing.

I enjoy each day because I get to see my husband enjoy each day. Here he has the opportunity to play golf as often as I'll let him.... He's on committees, has enjoyed more friendships than he ever did while working. He has time to sleep in if he wants, but mostly, he'd rather be active, enjoy the beauty of our community and not regret he moved from an area with ideal weather to an area where he is among his peers who also want to be active and are able to do so because of the availability of the numerous opportunities here. This makes me happy!

Default Ahhhhhhhhh Ha!

My wife Ruth would enjoy that. One of the reasons I let her pick TV for us to retire.

She has worked so hard I'm moving here because she looked so happy when we visited.

I'm sure I will find something to keep me entertained. I like the up all night sleep in thing!

Thanks Herv

Since this is only my 5th day in TV I have a short list of things that have happened that make me glad to live here. One is how friendly and helpful people are in TV. Where I just moved from you didn't even want to look at a person you didn't know let alone speak to them for fear of what reaction it might illicit. The other is the sunshine and blue skies. It has been a very gray dreary summer in Maryland. I so appreciate that even if there is a dreary day here like on Tuesday it only last for a day or two, not 2 months.

Last night on a beautiful golf course waiting for my turn to t-off on the last hole and looking at the sun set behind these beautiful massive live oak trees dripping with spanish moss. I looked at my buddies and said "Look how beautiful this place is and how lucky we are to be here."

They just smiled and shook their head "yes".

Boy I really enjoyed all of these comments. My wife and I sold our house and are coming down to TV the end of the month to buy a CYV. I have started to get cold feet, wondering if we have made the right decision. (My Mome is 82 and will not come to stay or visit) so in some respects I feel as though I am abandoning her and my grandkids. My wife and I have enjoyed every visit and I am sure we will be happy. Your positive comments about TV I think will prevent me from worring so much.

Well, I don't live in TV YET, either, but it is posts like this that make me feel confident that I will love it when I do. Gracie, you are a jewell!
