Very true! TOTV was very nice when I first arrived 5 years ago and has declined. Seems like it's "cool" for people to hide behind a computer/laptop/phone and be rude because they're so miserable! However, it does also show on the roads, golf cart paths, multi paths, etc. Way too many people are think they are entitled...

I think TOTV needs to add a SARCASM icon, gif, emoji - whatever you want to call it.

A smaller version of this would be inserted by the poster:


Obviously, sarcastic remarks are frequently included in posts. What the poster forgets is the fact that readers can't detect the intent of sarcasm because we can't hear or see the clues that exist when we communicate face-to-face. Readers misinterpret the sarcastic remarks as fact and the fireworks follow.

Not sure where you get your information from but that is completely incorrect. Ownership hasn't changed for 10 years. Moderators the same for half that time.

If there is an issue with a post that violates the site rules there is a red triangle in the upper right where you can send that to the moderators. This is only for site rule violations and not that someone irritates one though.

You've made your opinion known but out of respect for the GPS the forum can't be a sounding board for ones opinion over and over. There have been over 30,000 downloads of the GPS App. It is the most successful GPS App ever in The Villages. What may be helpful is to stay in touch with them at: villagesgps@gmail.com and let them know specifics that can improve the app as I know they are always making improvements, updates, and want to hear the feedback.

"Rep post" refers to giving positive or negative reputation to posts, similar to liking or disliking, but with values added to a total, as opposed to just yes/no.

Yikes! Talk about Facebook etc brainwashing people. They only did the ‘liking’ etc for advertising information mining.

I personally have a hard time with the ex p lady K culture of needing to be famous and popular.

I had a Chinese neighbor next door in his 90’s. On a very slippery, icy morning I was trying to drag out the trash can out unsuccessfully and he offered to do it for me! Of course I would not let him. He was a very quiet, not ‘famous’ or ‘popular’ type of person who spoke almost no English. He would not have gotten many ‘likes’ on his posts.

Not to disappoint but reputation and forums seriously predates Facebook. And yes, EVERYTHING Facebook does is to make money off people.
