Default What the heck? How to change a light bulb?

In the master closet in a Lantana, a bulb has burned out and I tried to get the glass cover off with no success. I unscrewed the bottom finial so that the post shows but the glass cover does not slide down. I have tried unscrewing the cover thinking maybe there was an added step. That doesn't do anything. It just goes around and around. Soon both lights will go and I will be doomed. Does someone know the trick? It is probably something really easy and I am going to feel like a total dunce but I am willing to publicly do so if it solves the problem.

Well the google thing was a good idea. They mention there are only four types to work from. I identified my problem. The cover was oddly stuck on the pipe. I jiggled it and viola, it finally loosened up and it is done. Thanks for the google suggestion.
