Default Xmas Tree Lighting At LSL

I never saw the square so packed with people tonight, for the LSL Xmas tree lighting. People were in a festive mood, and were singing Xmas carols.

There were tables set-up on the perimeter of the square, for people to sit at. One gentelman informed me,, that someone got there at 8 AM to sit at the table, and was relieved by another person, in a shift of 4 hours, so the group that came for the lighting, would have a reserved table.

Somethings never change, like in reserving a row of seats.

I'll be darned, if I would spend all day, so I could get the best view, for any event but that's just me. I got there at a 6:45 PM, and I saw the tree pretty good, from where I was standing.

That's life in TV. To each his/her own.

I could have sworn that everyone was there for the Christmas Tree lighting.

It was the same at Spanish Springs on Monday night. Very crowded but so much fun. It probably will be the same for Paddock on Friday. I think this year, I'll try to attend all three tree lightings.

I'm just thinking......if someone takes the time and makes the effort to reserve a table for a day, then they probably deserve the best table. What ever makes them happy. As for me, no event would make it worth my time to save anything for that long. Oh wait, maybe I'd stand in line to collect a large lottery winning! Enjoy the holidays and Merry Christmas!

The thing that ticked me off was people standing in front of us sitting in chairs to watch the performances. I got there early so I could watch from a good seat and theses idiots come at the last minute and stand in front of me. I would never be so inconsiderate or unaware of the people around me.

I am assuming you mean the folkz on the sidewalk between the tables and the square - that doesn't surprise me at all. Its an open space that will be occupied when there are that many people

Maybe they were saving the table for folks that have disability issues. If that were the case, then it was a beautiful thing that they did.

The tree lighting at LSL is one of my favorite Villager activities! The candles all being lit together is beautiful.

And half of them were outsiders. What ticked me off was the start time.
If they say 7PM, that doesn't mean 7:20. The m/c had to have her
20 minutes of fame, as she does every year. Either it's time to buy her a new
watch, or get a new m/c. I vote for the latter. Gracie Girl, you up for the job?

And the drunk carolers, well, that's a whole other topic.

NO, I would not be that naïve. I was sitting beside the gazebo. The hula dancers could barely get through to perform then we could not enjoy the performance.

I've been here over 8 years and I still go. Depends on what's happening at the squares.
