Default Born in

Wabash, Indiana, but raised in Van Lear, Kentucky, same hometown as Loretta Lynn. She's Van Lear's only claim to fame, except for some coal mine accidents back in the 20's and 30's.

Ok, I was born in VA. Just thought I wasn't 'spose to admit it. Small town of Franklin, VA. Paper mill town. Always avoided being down wind!

I am sorry you don't like the midwest, Redwitch. Tell me why.
Hated tornado shelters; hated the flat land. I really am a mountain gal through and through (no comment about Florida and it's flatness please -- I'm well aware of it and hate that aspect of this state) -- have been my entire life. As a kid, I didn't care if I lived in a urban or rural setting. Actually preferred the rural -- more freedom. It really is just a land/weather issue. (And, yes, I know all of the Midwest is not flat but the areas we spent any real amount of time were.)

The one thing I learned quickly as a child and have found it to still be true as an adult is that people are pretty good throughout the world. There are cultural differences whether in a different nation or a different region, but the goodness is there regardless. So, I've loved the people of Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, etc. as much as those of NY, NJ, California and Europeans, Asians, Middle Easterners, Africans.

I was just there - and by there I mean in the school! Changed a lot since I went to school there, a couple of hallways and classroom areas were the same, other than that I was lost. A good friend of mine (who later became a cousin-in-law) taught there for many years, is now retired.

Born in Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma but moved to Fort Worth, Texas when I was 14 and lived here ever since. Next stop is The Villages, when I retire in a couple of years........until I die.

Going back to the post of $5, my dad was in the Army and I cost $10 - for the food my mother ate and pictures. I came out cheap and still am. No high maintenace here!
