Default What will you do in the heat?

The next 3 or 4 days in TV will be very hot (high 90's) and humid.

What is a typical day like for you in these conditions? Do you still get in some activity? Catch up on you sleep? Spend the day at the pool?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Default Great Question!!

Thanks Russ for asking this question, I cant wait to read all the ideas of others. The heat and I do not do well lol, but I am about to find out as I will be down in a month or so. I figure a few months of heat sure outweighs the 6 to 7 months of cold, snow and ice yuk.
If anyone of my new friends are looking for me....I will have myself parked in the water at the nearest pool lol lol. And when I turn into a prune, maybe at an ice cold pub till it cools off lol lol Then again....catching up on sleep is a great idea too!!!

I'm in tv house hunting. Yesterday it was in the 90s. We dodged the rain for an hour then the temp dropped 20 degrees to 72. Perfect.

I am a walker. With this heat I have to force myself to get going between
6:00 - 6:30 A.M. Sometimes I would love to sleep in but my walks are important to me. When my schedule allows I attend line dancing classes during the heat of the day. One thing for sure, they keep the rooms at the recreation centers freezing! As hot as it has been this would be a perfect time to catch some movies. In the evenings we always go somewhere in the golf cart. Even though it is hot, driving around in the golf cart you can feel a breeze.

Hey Russ,

This was one of Jim's biggest concerns as he has always spent summers on the coast of Maine or Conn.

Yesterday he took Finley to DDRR early (around 8). This morning he is up in the attic bringing stuff down we need for the kids visit while it is cooler. Then off to DDRR. He works on stuff around the inside of the house and his job search while it is hot.

Of course, I am stuck behind the computer for work.

Last night we went out to play 9 and the afternoon storm had cooled things off. By the time we had 3 in, storm clouds and humidity moved in again and it was more like the night we played with you. Unfortunately a second strong storm came thru and we had to hi-tail it home.

If the Recreation centers are kept very cool, then there really shouldnt be any problem as what to do in the heat of the day. There are numerous classes and activities held at the Rec centers during the day. Thursdays rec news is just filled with them. Mabe on those blistering hot days it would be great to learn something new in a class or even go to the indoor exercise classes they offer at the centers.

It gets pretty darn hot & humid up North too in July and August, somehow we manage to cope with those months.
