Default foreclosures in The Villages

Hello, I'm getting ready to buy my home in TV as I'm going to retire in 2013. I visit often and know the area quite well. I wanted to know if anyone can tell me if there are forclosures in TV, and if so, does anyone know a reputable realtor to consult regarding forclosures.

To find foreclosures in your neighborhood is to visit the county recorder’s office and look through the records for Notice of Defaults (NOD). The desk clerk can assist you on where to find these records.

Try Lyle. Gant He is a sponsor.
The Villages Weather

The link should have foreclosures even though it says weather.

I just bought a foreclosure. We caught ours through Homepath, but there are quite a few of them out there.

“quite a few”, seems like a lot to me. What is quite a few, 10, 100, .02% or 1%? Just asking, I honestly do not know.

There is not much point to looking at foreclosures in The Villages. You are severely limiting your selection, and you are not going to save much money. I purchase foreclosures and short/sales for rental properties just outside The Villages, and continue to get deep discounts down to about $50 per square foot for houses built in 2005 - 2008. It just doesn't happen in The Villages. Too much demand from qualified buyers, and relatively easy to sell homes.
