Default Let's get the fun back!!!

I was searching old posts after hearing about Donna passing because I wanted to learn a little more about her. I wish I had been given the opportunity to get to know her, she seemed sweet and a lot of fun. While looking at the various threads something else struck me...TOTV was more fun! I'm not saying that everyone on here isn't wonderful and most are extremely kind, I'm just saying that it seems like is has gotten more serious, less laughs. Maybe it's because many of the people that posted on here knew each other better, maybe the chat rooms we hear about contributed to that? How can we get that back?? Can we?? I'm looking forward to meeting some of you at the next Crispers meet in April..and I hope a lot of you will be there. It will be great to actually put faces to the names. In the interest of getting more fun to this site, how about if everyone posts their funniest joke? I'll start..(ok, it's not the funniest, but the others would be censored )

Ole is the pastor of the local Norwegian Lutheran Church , and Pastor Sven is the minister of the Swedish Covenant Church across the road.

One day they are seen pounding a sign into the ground, which said:

DA END ISS NEAR!

TURN YERSELF AROUNT NOW

BAFOR IT ISS TOO LATE!

As a car speeds past them, the driver leans out his window and yells, "Leave people alone, you Skandihoovian religious nuts!"

From the curve, they hear screeching tires and a big splash.

Shaking his head, Rev. Ole says, "Dat's da terd one dis mornin'."

"Yaa," Pastor Sven agrees, then asks, "Do ya tink maybe da sign should yust say, 'Bridge out?'"

Like that one.

I heard one today from an 85 year old or so woman.

It's a little racy but should fit in with the PG rating of this board.

I heard that they were giving out viagra at the nursing home so that the men would not fall out of bed.

Paddy was walking through a graveyard when he came across a headstone with the inscription "Here lies a lawyer and an honest man." "Faith now," exclaimed Paddy, "I wonder how they got the two of them in one casket."

One more:

A Texas cowboy walks into a bar and clears his voice to the crowd of drinkers. He says, "I hear you cowhands are a bunch of hard drinkers. I'll bet $500 bucks with the first person in here who thinks he can chug 10 large mugs of Budweiser back-to-back."

The room is quiet, and no one takes up the cowboy's offer. One man even leaves.

Thirty minutes later the same gentleman who left shows back up and taps the cowboy on the shoulder. "Is your bet still good?" asks the man.
The Texan cowboy says yes and asks the bartender to line up the 10 mugs of Bud. Immediately the cowhand tears into all 10 of the large mugs, drinking them all back-to-back.

The other bar patrons cheer as the cowboy sits in amazement. Then the cowboy proceeds to give the cowhand the $500 and says, "If ya don't mind my askin', where did y'all go for that 30 minutes you were gone?"
The cowhand replies, "Oh... I had to go to another bar down the street to see if I could do it first."

Default A cute one that was forwarded to my wife from one of her friends in Texas...

REPLACEMENT WINDOWS

Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with that expensive double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got a call from the contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the work had been completed a whole year ago and I still hadn't paid for them. Hellloooo,............just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am automatically stupid. So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told me last year, that in ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves! Helllooooo? It's been a year I told him. There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally just hung up. He never called back. I bet he felt like an idiot.

Default This one is from the Mid-West

My boss phoned me today. He said, "Is everything okay at the office?"

I said, "Yes, it's all under control. It's been a very busy day, I haven't stopped."

"Can you do me a favor?" he asked.

I said, "Of course, what is it?"

Speed it up a little, I'm in the foursome behind you."

Trish, I think your onto something. JMHO, but in the past we had a very strong camaraderie with our fellow posters, there was an air of happiness, not just jokes or information, but true friendship. The chat room certainly had a big hand to play in that. I like your idea of posting jokes, but it wasn't only jokes that made for the strong friendships. In Donna's case it was the true caring and lightheartedness of her posts and her dazzlers and smilies that she introduced us to.

It would be nice to get the chat room back and running but we would have to promise to use it, I would think. It was only recently deleted, and I'm sure because no one was on their but Mik. What we used to do was to set up dates on a thread about meeting in the chat room at a certain time so that all would be there at once... Wanna try that? If you think its worth it, I will be happy to post something. With the time differences, we would select an east coast time that would work for most of the posters wherever they lived. Let me know if you guys want to restart that.

Thanks, KathieI

Default Chat Room

I think it would be great to resurrect the chat room in memory of Donna. What a great idea! I'm in.

A minister was singing the praises of Mr. Smith. The minister said he was an ideal church member and husband. He said Mr. Smith had taken is wife to Rome on their 30th anniversary. When the minister ask Mr Smith what he was going to do on their 35th anniversary Mr Smith replied, " I'm going to pick her up".

Kathie, I would be more than happy to chat. Do we have to talk to admin? I think that chatting would enable us to learn more about each other..heck, Steve and I met online and because we had the ability to chat we learned a lot about each other before we even met in person. By the way, I'm sorry about the loss of your friend. I never knew her but I know I would have loved her!

This should make you feel good, especially if you've been married for a long time.
