Sorry for the attack...I'm just getting really tired of folks expecting the Villages to hold their hands through every challenge they come across. A lot of folks feel like I pay my amenities so why isn't this being done for me...from free coffee in the sales lobbies ...to mail box locations ..to protecting us from the outside.. because we bought in to the lifestyle we shouldn't have to take care of ourselves...Once again I apologize to you ..

My dog doesn't have a crate, and I am going no place without her (my world). The Villages management should protect the people who make the money for them. I pay amenities. And before the hate, my friend's family lost a child in his sister island of Antigua (Barbuda) and another friend is down near Naples. At least my neighborhood watches each other here. Many have it worse than we do.

Bosox: thank you. You're kind.
Bogie: my apologies. I was hasty.

Whew. Being a bit harsh imho. I agree with most of you that TV has done everything reasonable to provide info and help. But I thought the op was pretty reasonable asking his question also...even admitting the possibility that it might just be him. I think he was admitting to the possibility that he's simply not as up-on-things as some of you.

Be nice, folks. The storm has all of us a little edgy.

I am sorry. I was harsh. I think we all are just a little scared and stressed.

At least there are a few threads of something other than Irma. Still watching old comedies. Lock in a house for a few days will make anyone a little stir crazy

Rec Center for shelter. The Rec Centers are built from the same material and by the same people that built your house. So if you're not safe in your house, then you're not safe in a rec center. If you live in a mobile home on the historic side, then The Villages High School is open as a shelter and Gracie posted that an hour before your post was made.

Here is a live webcam at Sloppy Joe's Bar in Key West, I've been watching it all day. You might have to give it a minute or so to load, I'm sure there are a lot of people watching.

Live adjustable radar, I've been looking at this off and on all day. Just take your mouse and you can zoom out a little and then drag the area around Key West and Cuba. On the legend, you click radar and satellite so you'll get a mix of precip and cloud cover and then you'll see the eye. You can also put in motion with the buttom at the bottom. You can lighten the clouds and rain so you'll be able to see the map underneath by using the 'opacity' adjustment. Just play around with it and you can get a good picture of what's going on.

What I don't understand very few people on here are new. Most have lived here many years and it seems like they've had there heads in the sand. You should know where shelters are before an emergency comes, you should know all about what is it isn't available and where everything is. In an emergency there is no time to say NOBODY TOLD ME THAT. MOST EVERYTHING INVOLVING THE VILLAGES IS EITHER ON THEIR WEB PAGE, IN THE NEWSPAPER OR POSTED AS TO WHERE TO GET INFO.My phone, tablet and newspapers have been full of info for several days. Not all shelters will let you have pets for a good reason could you imagine a shelter with maybe 100mscared animals in it? I sure wouldn't wantbtombe there. I know I'm going to catch crap for this but really people plan ahead a little.

Please help me understand the value or entertainment value of ridiculing a fellow Villager because he or she asks a question or shares a thought.
