Sharing and learning is good. No call to debate here.

I'm lovin' the smell of fresh air.

Xavier...are you sure it was on a regular basis?

I admit that I did PM you after a particularly personal post and I am sure that I did use those two words...."moron" and "idiot".

You, in turn, reported me to the administrator and I received a scolding and a warning.

You disappeared not long afterwards.

Just a reminder that is was in a PM (personal message) and not posted in the public forum.

All the best.

Everybody has opinions so here is mine. If the political forum was sign up to participate, why would it's content bother non-participants?

Why would you simply not opt in, and thus eliminate any anguish it may cause from your life? As for the confrontation spilling over into other forums, that is what is happening here - by eliminating the poli board all those confrontational people are here on the gentle, amiable general discussion board causing you angst.
I couldn't agree more. We are up to 335 posts without an understanding of why this happened. All I have heard is conjecture, even from the Moderator. That is fine, as I am only curious. What I do not understand is the glee expressed by some over the closing of the Political forum. As many have said you can always opt-out and pretend that it doesn't exist. Personally, I found it quite fun, especially from those I do not agree with.

If one did not want to read let alone participate in the Political Forum, don't go to it. I found it interesting and stimulating.

Although commenting on Admin/Moderator actions and directing comments at another user is against the TOTV terms of service, we have allowed this thread to continue to get feedback on the suspension of the Political Forum, as we knew it would be controversial. We were particularly interested in assessing whether there were perspectives on the issue we had not considered.

It has been a lively and informative discussion that is becoming repetitive and at times contentious. This thread will remain open through midnight tonight, at which time it will be closed. Once closed, we will resume our policy of not permitting posts about Admin/Moderator actions or directing comments at other users. We continue to welcome your feedback via PM, email or reporting posts.

Thank you eweissenbach (sp?), I know you had your tongue tusked way in your cheek when you wrote this:

"all those confrontational people are here on the gentle, amiable general discussion board causing you angst."

gentle, amiable general discussion..... I'm going back to reread this entire thread as I obviously missed the gentle, amiable general discussion.....

All in good fun only!! It truly made my day.

OK, I just want to say here that what Xavier is saying in a false argument. Calling people the names Xavier says he was called was absolutely forbidden, and anyone doing so would have been banished. The rare occasions that any outright name calling happened, that was the result. So being calling those names on a regular basis?.......................it never happened.

Again, we have another who says good riddance to a Forum that if he didn't join would be the same forum we have now. No Political Forum in view to see.

These anti-Political Forum protagonists are not making much sense IMHO.

To some people, the obvious facts of this issue seem to mean little.

hopefully the admin will have learned that ANY environment where there is a difference of an opinion there is going to be opposing dialogue. And just like on all other threads including political the one's who are short on understanding opposing views they resort to assigning cute names and some quite insulting (some, perhaps not by intent).

And they will have observed anytime there is an opposition and or a question asked it will always be viewed by some as confrontational.

And as was always in evidence on the political forum, there were those who stopped by just to stir the pot, just like there has been on this thread.

It should be obvious there isn't much difference in the tone and belief intensity regardless the forum.

And to reiterate what has been said, again, with the opt in those who don't like it there do not have to come in.
I also suggest the admin consider some type of self policing....there are some of us who use the blocking feature that would be quite willing to let you know when one of the cannons comes loose.
