I can't believe he is still missing.

My guess is that he must have someone watching his house as he deals with whatever personal is going on in his life. The neighbors surely would have noticed something amiss over three weeks time. We see whether we want to our not much of what happens at the homes across from us. I assume Villages PL's neighborhood is also like that as he seems to live in Belvedere. Some of those homes are kind of isolated. I have a friend from Doggie Doo Run Run who has occasional parties in Belvedere. There are homes in cul-de-sacs.

Still I am worried about our resident vegan and heavy library user. The librarians probably know who he is if he is an everyday patron. We used to chat about various library users when I was a volunteer at Palm Harbor and East Lake Community Libraries in Palm Harbor from 2000-2003. But you could not really invade a person's privacy unless for a very good reason like a medical emergency, crime, etc.

Well, I called the Belvedere Library and talked to a very nice lady there. Unfortunately, she has no clue about anyone who uses the computer almost daily and is a vegan. She did say all of the staff there is relatively new, so there's no one she could ask about him. Not sure what else we can do to ask someone about him.

You are a peach, Dee.

Actually V Joyce, he isn't missing, just not posting.
I know we are all concerned, but perhaps he is just taking a sabbatical.
Even though I know the posts on this thread are very well intended, I'm not sure VPL would appreciate people speculating about his whereabouts.
He lives in a patio villa with neighbors in very close proximity, so I'd think they would notice if anything was amiss.
Hopefully he will decide to join us again. If not, he may have found a Vegan Forum that is more in keeping with his beliefs.

Totally agree. The assumption of "missing" is unwarranted. This is not intended to be uncaring, but I see no reason to assume anything bad. If some further information comes up, then concern may be appropriate.

Unnecessary to point out a bad choice in words. I'm out.

FWIW, V Joyce, my comment was not intended to single you out. It was more directed at the (IMHO as yet unwarranted) concern expressed throughout the thread.

Sorry Joyce, I didn't mean to be critical of your word choice. I've sent you a PM.

Guess now we are going to have another "missing" poster.

Thanks for doing that. There does not seem more that any of us can do as you also stated redwitch. He will get a big kick out of this thread when he comes back if he does.

I over reacted. I apologize. I'm out when it comes to worrying about a person I don't know. That's a lie. I will continue to worry.

Don't go VJ. You are such a great addition to this forum and so many times you have made me smile or shake my head yes. There was some tension a few days ago and I am pretty sure who was the innocent party and who was just stirring the pot.. When tempers flare, sometimes people get hurt. It really takes a lot of courage to post on here sometimes.

I have felt from day one that you have good common sense and a great attitude and a sense of humor and a kind heart. It is much nicer when you are here with us.
