Pretty devastating pics.

I went to Weather Watchers class earlier this year in Tampa, the instructor said from warning to impact is 6-10 minutes, there is no time to wake up and get to a shelter.

He recommended an in home shelter preferably in the ground perhaps in the garage floor or above ground in the corner of the garage you just need a 5'x6' inclosure with a door that opens in so all that debris in those picture don't trap you in.

This would be made out of concrete or steel, it may sound claustrophobic but it's only for a short time.

They cost about $5,000.

Have noticed a number of buildings (ie) restaurants that have an emblem on the front door that resembles a fire dept. badge with the letter R showing. Are these buildings meant to be emergency shelters?
