Happinow, I doubt you'll find any overriding opinions that will point you to "The Perfect Appliances". For every set of positive perspectives, you'll have negative ones to offset them. Do all the research you want on the internet on any brand you'd choose and you'll probably conclude the same thing. No real clear winners.

I'd offer that Consumer Reports is probably the most viable source for unbiased, independent reviews of appliances and such. Buy their magazine(s) and/or subscribe - info available online via subscription only:

I agree.... There are going to be appliance that break down. It's the law of averages! I don't think I've EVER had a stove break down on me!!!!

Also, have the appliances that were installed in my home. They all seem pretty awesome to me....

Now... where did I put that Betty Crocker cookbook???

Oh... Never-mind....

HONEY!!!!

Where are you taking me to dinner?????

Default featured appliances

You guys are probably right. Kinda like a car....there's good and not so good in all of them. I think I'll go on features of the appliances. I like lots of features...

Default appliances

We've been pondering this as well. I have read that some TOTV folk buy the bottom line appliances and then sell them. Good market in TV.

We really don't want go down that path. If we can get a credit and we can figure out what is better to buy then that would be the road we'll take.

We have spoken to a company named Delair that say they will credit about
$1K for the basic appliance package offered by TV, and change out the day after closing with the makes of our choice. I have asked them for a quote on different models and will report back when received.

I traded in all my appliances in the kitchen after we bought our place, got full credit and upgraded. I wish I had done it with the washer and dryer, don't forget about them. Had to have the BRAND NEW whirlpool washer repaired after using it the first time as it would not spin. It was fixed quickly but I wish I had upgraded them too. I think I used Delair.

Even if you didnt register your app. they should honor the CO and consider that as for warranty. Used to repair appl. and thats is what we did with the manufactures. Push it if need be

It was done under warranty, just disappointed it was on first usage! They found a part not working, but took 1 1/5 hours! No charge to me.

Default Washer/ Dryer

Most of the new Washer/Dryer have electronic controls. Low Voltage and voltage spikes can damage the controls. You may want to look at the "Speed Queen" W/D. They are made in US with steel gears, not plastic, and with old fashion controls. This may change in the new models because 2013 regulations require more "water management" features, that may require electronic controls.

Actually sorry I just saw I posted on here before with the same information. Anyway, I called Del Air, and they were very easy to deal with when I called. Ask for a Manager if you are being given a hard time. They were happy to take them back and get more $$$$ for the upgrades. I will look to see if I can find who I talked to and if I find it I will PM you.
