Default Who has built a Lantana recently?

This could go down as a pretty silly question but I need a favor.
Can you get out a ruler and measure the depth of the wall kitchen cabinets.

Particularly where you would store your dinner plates. Our plates are about 10.75 in. Would they fit?

Now there is a good chance I'll keep the questions coming so beware...

Default "Fresh" Lantana

Hi -

If you can wait until Monday, we'll be seeing our Lantana, in person, for the first time. Once we can get past the excitement, we'll try to remember to measure the kitchen cabinets!

Perhaps another Lantana owner will answer your question before then!

Hope your plates fit! (Gee, hope ours do, too!)

Default Lantana

Yes we can wait! Good luck guys!

While the tension of an Olympic race goes on we just talk Lantana. One would think it's a new language...

Our Lantana was built in 2007 so dimensions could be different. I measured 10 1/4 inches (12 inches exterior) depth. Your dinner plates would not fit in my cabinets.

Default cabinet depth

That's about what I measured during our LSV but I was hoping I was wrong.
Where we live now our cabinet depth is just under 11" so they just make it.

Looks like we need another plan....

There's a cabinet that I think they're calling a Pantry. It sticks out the same as the lower cabinets. You can see it in the Model B home model tour for the Lantana on the villages website. Definitely work with your designer and let them know what you need. They'll let you know what you can do. Mine was great at finding solutions.

The cabinets here are just short of 11", about 10.75" to the face of the rail that the door shuts against. With the space for the door stops, your plate should lay in. They are standard depth cabinets.

It might be an upgrade, but there are 15" cabinets out there. My Lantana was built in March,2012, and it is 11" Check and see if there can be a substitution. They are doing a lot of that now. Also, maybe just 1 cabinet needs to be larger.
I also have a friend who changed the wine rack to a cabinet after market through the samr installer. Why couldn't you do that and order a 15" deep one?

Sorry to be so dense. I think you're referring to a cabinet in a designer home called a Lantana!. I was thinking it was something like a lanai. Duh! Carry on, Ladies!

We moved into our Lantana in March. The wall cupboards are just under 11 inches. The bottom cupboards have 'roll out' drawers and a half shelf. I made the comment that I wished the half shelf rolled out. I was told that was easy to have done. And instead of a half shelf, it is a full drawer. I also had roll out drawers put in the pantry cabinet. As far as I am concerned, that was the BEST thing we did. (My husband may not agree - he loves his garage floor! Enjoy your Lantana - we love ours!

Default I'm they guy

Wait a sec I'm the guy!

By the way your suggestions are great! We originally wanted the open kitchen, but if we put in the wall we might have better options.

Our design meeting could be very interesting. Alas, we have to wait until Thanksgiving week.

If you do a stretch in kitchen maybe you could fit a small island. We had another set of "pot" drawers add to island....they are deep and fit all plates. Need plate holders: Drawer Peg System 4DPS Series By Rev-A-Shelf | Shop & Save at CabinetParts.com.

Just wondering... did you do a lateral stretch to the kitchen? If so, how does the stretch extend your space -- from the laundry area to the breakfast nook? We extended across the entire back of the Lantana & I've been considering a lateral stretch as well - looks like we might have the room, but I guess only the designers will be able to tell me that. Thank you for any input!

Darn...Now I'm really, really confused!! I thought I wanted a Zinnia but now you have me looking at the model tours of the Lantana....Guess I'll just have to make a trip down there to see everything again. (gee..I'd hate that ).
