And what signage is there at the roundabout at El Camino and Morse that warns a wannabe visitor that they will have to make a sudden lane change at the last minute to get into the visitor lane from the right lane while a resident in the left lane is trying to do the opposite.
There are yield signs posted before entering a roundabout.

I do. After careful study of the giide pamphlet AND a chat with a Police Officer who laughed initially, I found that having my 02 drive works for me. (01 is me 02 is he)

Yes, brilliant. Now how do you propose that gets done? Two lanes leading into the RAB and two lanes in the RAB. That means two lanes merge into one before the RAB and then modify the RAB to one lane. I am tired of of being inconvenienced because some people have no common sense and can't follow simple rules of the road.

Come on people there are only 50 posts on this thread. Surely you have an opinion that goes counter to the new signs or the roundabout brochure..........

You can be in either lane to go all the way around the circle when entering if you dare,, I am saying if you know that entering, then you need to be in the right spot. If you are in the right lane and hit a car turning right when you are going straight around the circle, then it is your fault,,. read into this alittle.
Just happend 2 times. Once to one of our company vehicles. But if you know you are making the first right,, be in the right lane coming in, dont be the one trying to be a hot shot and race around the circle,,

Round-a-bouts are easy to navigate, just use a little thought.

The point is there is only ONE way to do the roundabouts. It's not rocket science and it is not up to interpretation. The procedure is clearly posted in that nice visual on the Sumter county site we've posted many, many times.

Yes everyone has there own way of making sure others don't mistakenly bang into them (Personally I enter alone if possible or lag behind to make sure I can take any action necessary). But the law is not in question as some here make you believe. It's cut and dry and police will tell you that after you've been in an accident that you think was someone's fault and YOU get the ticket!!

After 55 posts, anyone reading this thread is probably more confused than when they started. It's disconcerting to see that even "seasoned" residents disagree on how best to drive a rotary.

Huh? No you can't. If entering on the right then it's either first turn or straight through. No other option. Period.

Maybe you were kidding?

Yes , I think you see where i was going....

Although, the FHP officer at the our accident, did say you could in a commercial vehicle. That is what the man in uniform with the big Glock on his side was saying..

After watching so many "almost oops" at roundabouts, I can't help but think of the words on the tombstone ----"BUT I HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY."
Drive defensively and never drive beside another vehicle.
