I think it's cultural. There are many country's where just as many men dance as women and they are just as good as women at dancing. Also in some of the countries of the world you would not see women dancing in public only men. The general culture of the USA has women dancing and men watching but if you go to some of the areas of the USA where different cultures group together you might see something totally different

I don't know about the USA, but in Canada men like to wash the car and do oil changes. And women like to dance. It's a gender thing.

add to that in the USA; play with mechanical things that burn gas and somethings that go bang or blow up, & hunt, & fish & get sweaty playing sports, & scratch & belch & etc. & tell jokes. And many women like to dance & eat out & go for moon-light walks: and, yes ladies, please accept it (no disrespect meant), it is a gender thing.
Thank goodness there are differences, or life would really be boring

I think I know the answer to this question !! For those of you that get the Village Sun, If you look in the classified section there has been an AD fpr the past week asking for available MEN to become Dance Hosts for Holland America and receive a free cruise. All the dancing men from The Vilages applied for the job.....and you see what is left!

There is one obvious thing no one has mentioned, you girls kill us off sooner. Sadly, it's true you live longer.

Sad. But a lot of truth to this.
Single men say its 10 to 1 ratio (women to men). Most single women will say its actually only 30 to 1 ratio due to this problem (picture).

There have been many classes like this before. Seems like we (especially single guys), don't show up. Too busy playing pickleball and sometimes golf. Maybe you might want to learn to play pickleball.

Well, maybe for you but I have never changed the oil in my entire life, did not even change a tire until I was in my thirties (I never had a flat before then), and wash a car.....the dirt keeps the paint lasting 200,000 plus miles.

That said.....I love to dance and am very good at it. Raced home from school to watch American Bandstand (when it was still in Philadelphia) and learned how to dance from that show and Summertime on the Pier (Steel Pier in Atlantic City) as well as Soul Train. To quote a great Motown song...'I haven't stopped dancing yet'.

One of the network magazine programs did a feature on this some years back and it was very interesting. One guy mentioned that at the end of the evening he had 5 room keys slipped into his jacket pocket. The men have a strict set of rules and the cruise line watches them like a hawk so that they don't get to friendly. All the guys they interviewed seemed to be VERY happy with the gig.

Yes, I remember hugging the bleachers while we watched the girls dance. Ah, to be in junior high again. We didn't have a Arthur Murray's in Vietnam.

I will indeed take up competitive sports. That's a great idea. Do I need a partner?
