My experience with CenturyLjnk was a nightmare. I spent at least an hour every month because of an extreme increase in their rate. That was almost 9 years ago. I have had XFinity (Comcast) ever since. I call them a week before I know that the plan I have will increase. It has kept my rate low and this year I actually am saving $2.37 a month. I’d choose anything over CenturyLink!

This is why if you have CenturyLink fiber you can easily switch to Quantum Fiber. All they do is disconnect CenturyLink and connect Quantum to the source of your fiber. If you have CenturyLink DSL and can get Quantum Fiber, again, Quantum will be cheaper and faster in both cases.

We had Spectrum and switched to Quantum earlier this year. About 1/2 the cost, 3 Xs the speed (300 mb -1 gb).

I went from $90 to $50/month (I autopay w/a credit card which costs an additional $5. Autopay from bank account is free).

No change in reception, bettter coverage in the house. They installed their modem and 1 additional Mesh Hub (no additional cost or monthly fee) and I now receive a $20 discount on my AT&T Cellular bill...

Does anyone have a phone number to call for this project? They came through my street in Virginia Trace and when they were finished they laid a couple squares of sod to repair their work. Unfortunately one of the squares is St. Augustine grass and my lawn is Zoysia. I would like to call someone and ask to have it replaced. Maybe if they are working in your area, you have or can get a phone number to reach out to them. Thanks.

And, if the cable is cut, how long will it take to restore Internet service to the house? Do they have enough technicians available to restore a local outage? That is what I mean by time-tested reliability.
They are very good in my experience. A landscaper working on my irrigation system cut my fiber in 2 different places. I called at about 3pm and the tech came the next morning. Tech #1 traced and found the first break and called the #2 tech (splicer tech). He arrived within 30 min. and began the splice. In the mean time tech #1 continued and found the second break. All was back in service with in 3 or 4 hours of their arrival with no charge. When I had Xfinity I called about a problem an appointment was made 3 days in the future.

It's not "Utube." It's not even YouTube. It's YouTube TV. WESH and other local channels are all live with your subscription. Certain sports events I believe are not available on the local channels, you'd have to ask someone who cares about sports if that's true, it's just what I've been given to understand.

Our home is north of 466 and Comcast/Xfinity is our only option for cable internet. It’s been available since we bought our home almost 11 years ago. We get 300 Mbps internet for $40 per month using our own modem, which is fast enough for my wife and I to stream 2 TV’s simultaneously and use our iPads. Every year they increase our rate and I have to make an appointment at the Xfinity store on the corner of 441 and Rolling Acres (I can park the golf cart at the Sketchers outlet and walk across the street) and ask them for another year of the new customer rate, which they always accommodate. I wish we had another option, competition is a wonderful thing for consumers.

Can and has.

We've had Quantum fiber since September. Since thn we've had five or six 10-min to 1-hour outages and THREE multi-day outages caused by subcontractors "fixing" problems with our neighbor's internet. The last was Wednesday. It's still out and there's no estimate on when it will be fixed.

So we're canceling on Monday.

Quantum/ATT runs the thin fiber optic cable thru yards along the shortest, usually diagonal, path to the local junction box. They use regular shovels to cut a slit in your grass then shove the cable into the slit. The cable is 2 to 6 inches deep, max. It goes over your probabally already shallow irrigation pipes. Until the cable is installed deeper in protective conduit it's going to be a problem.

The Quantum/ATT subcontractors that cut our cable Wednesday were working out of an unmarked older car, shovels in the trunk.

The worker didn't know the difference between the modem and the router. Not knowledgable at all.

I am just south of 466 and have had Xfinity in one form or another for 14 years. Recently I changed everything, went to T-mobile wireless internet and switched to Hulu for live TV. Speeds are faster and quality of TV resolution is superb. So far so good with everything. Old cost $260.00 a month for Xfinity, new cost $140.00.

Speeds are faster? Have you done a speed test at various times of the day? What speed were you paying for with Xfinity?

The biggest complaint about wireless Internet is that the speed is slower and changes based on the time of day.

There was a time when Hulu Live would not work with the T-mobile 5G internet. Great to hear that it does now - gives me another option for live TV.

The speed may be slower and the speed may change based on the time of day but all that matters is that the slowest speed at the busiest time of day is adequate for the customer's needs. Paying for more bandwidth than that is just throwing money in the trash.

The poster said that switching from Xfinity to T-Mobile wireless Internet resulted in a faster speed.
