Default Last Minute Suggestions

Last Minute Suggestions.

1. Do a last minute load of wash for the clothes you might need over the next few days. Put them when dry back in the washer, then tape the top down.

2. Walk around your property for the last time looking for loose screens, potential flying objects.

3. Use your dishwasher for valuable documents, another waterproof appliance.

4. Close all internal doors, closets, (it's a pressure roof thing.)

5. Verify your shelter options/plans.

6. Take phone charger.

7. Pack the novel you always wanted to read with you.

8. Turn your refrigerator and freezer temperatures down and don't open the door unless necessary. Freeze a cup of water and then put a quarter on top to see how long the electricity was out if the food has spoiled.

9. Binge on remaining freezer ice cream.

I haven't drank booze in 7 years but I do have a half gallon of Vodka in the dishwasher, just in case. Got an extra drinking straw too incase my wife wants a sip or two.

As I understand it. A home AC can draw over 3,000 watts. In the event of brown outs, disruption of power, and surges could cause damage to the unit.
