That's because folks were abusing the opioid and the DEA regulated it so much legit folks can't get it.

The thing is those who were abusing it have now moved on to fentanyl because of the regulations.

It's a shame Publix didn't take over the one in Lake Sumter Landing.

One of the pharmacists told me that Walgreens was taking over the pharmacy at this store.

I really don't know how that location is profitable.
The quality of meat and vegetables at the WD has been in decline for years and their BOGO's are a joke. I never go there unless there is something on weekend sales flyer that appeals me.

This one is easy. When Yogi gave directions to his house, he always said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it" because whichever fork you took would lead to his house.

Some of the Winn Dixie stores will be converted to Aldis and around 400 will retain the Winn Dixie monitor and SE grocer Brands. Supposedly , the pharmacy transition will commence this fall and they are not currently restocking shortages. That tells a story about wasting your time going there. The total transition is scheduled for 2024.
This is most likely caused by Aldi not having a license to operate a pharmacy - their stores are small and efficient with not enough room to operate a pharmacy. While they do have a license for the sale of beer and wine, they are not licensed to sell hard liquor.

Renting the pharmacy space in the Winn-Dixie's to Walgreens or CVS is a smart business decision - they do not have to apply for licenses and they can collect rent which goes right to the bottom line.

Except that is not what WD is doing.

They have sold their pharmacy client base to Walgreens. Future refills will have to be picked up at Walgreens. WD is closing the pharmacy and the liquor store. Keeping the wine sales.
