The Rec centers just need my neighbors. The first two times that I went to the pool, the same couple was there. I saw the wife prod her husband, and he got up and went inside. A few minutes later the employee came out to check my ID.
The first time didn’t go so well, as I had been in the pool and my hair was wet. She eventually decided that it was me and I could stay. My hair was dry the second time, and the encounter went better. Unless there is a huge problem with people using the facilities without an ID that I don’t know about, I see no need for a new system. |

Yes I have seen folks being escorted from the pools! I have also seen requests to not have adult beverages in the pool. This was disregarded! What is the employee to do?

I think many of the Apt complexes have their own pool. I think it is a non-issue

They used to have people at the entrance to the pools checking id's. What a novel idea.

It won't keep all the nonmembers out, but would help. Only thing better would be to hire a full time person just to monitor EACH and EVERY pool. That would be very expensive! Most Rec centers have only one person inside at the desk. Impossible for them to also monitor who is coming into the pool and/or the other outdoor activity areas, as they are often very busy inside.

The only expense would be installing the card readers at each location. We already have the card. We use it at the drive gates.

No one here talks like this.... calling women names. I may expect a 30 or 40 year old son living with their parents to be classifying female Villagers as "Old Ladies", but not one of our Vibrant 50, 60, 70 ,80+ year old Villager men. Be a lot nicer, and it'll be fine. |

I play Mah Jong at Big Cypress on Monday nights. Two young men, about 18 or 19, entered as I did, and asked to play pool. The gentleman at the desk asked for their IDs, which they couldn't produce. He said no ID, no entry, so they left

Most people that I've talked to have zero anecdotes about seeing outsiders using our pools. To be honest, why would someone bother? Our pools are nothing special really. I think some people just feel the need to have something to complain about and this is the low hanging fruit.
