I’ve been using them since last June and pay $25/month with a 2 year contract with 1.2TB of data. I have not had any issues so far.

???
- $25/month seems low compared to the numbers others have given
- 1.2TB of data sounds like their monthly cap, not their data rate

From the responses, I think I need to clarify my credit card comment.

From my first day on Xfinity I was receiving a $10 credit for autopay. They charged my credit card every month. Then, near the end of last year, they modified that to a $5 charge for autopay due to my payment method. If I changed payment methods to automatic withdrawal then I could keep the $10 but if I continued with credit card payment they would reduce the discount to only $5.

Reduce a discount or increase the price, either way I am paying more - Xfinity did both.

A $5 reduction in a discount is not much. Even with an additional $5 increase in price ($10 total) it is not much. However, making any change drew my attention to this service and caused me to look into what else was available. Had they left things alone they would still have a customer. They chose to make changes, I chose to make different changes.

I have been with Xfinity for 12 years, have had no problem.
I saved a lot of money, by cutting the cable, plus I have 5 TVs in the house, so I bought my own equipment instead renting theirs every month.
I'm not sure how other companies operate, but they're all the same, get you on the extras.
Online you can buy whatever you need.

Have Xfinity but no cable, we use streaming apps $145 a month ( plus Netflix cost , HBO cost, Amazon cost ) so basically $200 a month and still have a hard time finding anything good to watch 🤦🏼*♀️. The only issue I have with it the cost ! They sold us on the internet making things less expensive way back when …. I now pay way more for cellular than land line and 3x as much as basic cable was when we had that. Go figure.

Instead of getting a land line, get an Ooma device and I used to pay $3-$5 a month. Ooma is a voip device that comes with answering machine and other landline benefits.

Regarding Ooma, do you have any problems with call forwarding or having a voicemail message show up when you know you were present and the phone never rang in the house? We are ready to can Ooma and get a cheap cell phone line just to keep our local number in NC. Our Ooma fees are roughly $17 per month with taxes.

We've had them since 2021 and love them. We pay $124/mo. for their fastest available package...don't know the technical aspects but it is lightning-quick, and we run a desktop, two iPads and three TVs, plus grandkids accessing our wifi during visits. Never a slowdown. We also have their phone service: 2 iPhones at $30/mo. each, everything unlimited.

They do hiccup now and again. But the tech people at their store on 441 are pretty savvy and can tell you the steps to take to avoid a service call. Our modem had an annoying habit of jumping on- and off-line at random intervals. The guy at the store said it was 90% chance it was our modem: over 3 years old. I brought in the old one, he gave me a new one, I set it up and no problems since. Their service calls if they come to your house are $100 for the call plus parts, if any, replaced.

I use T-Mobile as well. The total bill is $120 a month for 2 phones (w/unlimited data) and home internet (also unlimited) which seems like a good value to me. We also use the T-Mobile checking accounts, no charges and they pay 4% interest on the first 3k in your account and 2.5% on any balance. I like that there are no BS fees or taxes and this has been my price for about 8 years, no changes and no fooling around.

The product is good but they are having two price increases per year and only have a one year contract so they can GET you again - customer service SUCKS - if there was anything else I would switch it out! DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING THEY TELL YOU AND CHECK YOUR BILL EVERY MONTH! You have been warned!!

After reading all these responses, If you can get off of cable and go to one of the fiber companies, do it. Otherwise, with cable, you are going to have to renegotiate every so often to keep your cost reasonable. Also, even with a "special" rate, when their content charges go up, they pass them onto their customers as they did recently. With fiber you get full bi-directional speeds and I very rarely ever hear of anyone having equipment problems. You can use their free equipment or your own and the system is incredibly reliable.

DON’T change…. The actual internet service is about the same but the Customer Service is light years apart. Comcast/Xfinity is horrible and Spectrum is actually pretty good for a cable company. You will be making a big mistake by switching.

Used Comcast first 2 years here and worked well. Switched to Spectrum now past 2 years, now in 3rd year and works fine. Very tired of Comcast increasing price and having to call and spend time getting them to reduce price….
That being said Comcast has very good deals for new customers and for returning customers after 3 or 6 (can’t remember which they told me) months.
Also we use wi-fi mesh here so have good coverage everywhere even out in birdcage and yard.

You know that Ooma requires that you actually HAVE an internet connection already. So you still have to pay for internet. If you don't want internet for anything other than your phone, you can get it as cheap as $20/month.

But if you already have internet service, you can use a myriad of VoiP services available for free through your computer. You just need a microphone and speakers or ear-buds. If you have a cell phone but no data plan, you can use whatever internet service your house has to connect with it, and use a VoiP app to use it like a normal cell phone. You just can't use it outside your house unless you're at an open wifi hub, like a store or restaurant.

Default Quantum Fiber

65$ a month for life, 950 mbps, doesn't share lines. If its in your area. No installation fee..........If it is, send email, can get you 100$ off.......very satisfied, left spectrum, too much bait and raise
