Hi all,

Just wondering - if you have multiple TV's, does Xfinity/Spectrum connect EACH TV to a cable box that is WIRED into the wall?

Or is there a main unit that's wired and the other cable boxes connect wirelessly to the main unit?

My current DirecTV setup has a "master" unit with three controllers (one per TV) connected wirelessly back to the master unit.

TV's and boxes connect together via HDMI.

It can be done either way. I have Xfinity with two cable boxes that are both wired into the wall. But, if you don't have a wall outlet near the TV, you can get a wireless cable box.

Here is an alternative setup. You have the cable box on your main TV. On the others, attach a ROKU or Firestick. Then download the Xfinity Stream app onto these devices. You will get all the same channels and services as your main box. You will be saving the monthly rental of the secondary boxes.

That is pretty clever, and it will work. It will save you $10 per month per box. But, since I only have two boxes, and my total bill is about $250 per month, it wouldn't make sense for me to save $10. You would need to use the Roku remote instead of the Xfinity remote, and you would be streaming from the Internet instead of using the COAX cable, where you have access to several built-in apps delivered directly through the cable. These apps would need to be downloaded separately to the Roku stick if you wanted to use them. Also, the Xfinity voice features would not be available.
