I have lived in The Villages for 17 years. This is not the first report of alligators in the resident's driveways, etc. Note that it is mating season, and the adult alligators are looking for a mate.

"According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the courtship process for the state's more than one million alligators begins in April. Mating then happens in May or June before females build a nest and deposit about 32 to 46 eggs."
