Tonight (Thursday at 7:15 p.m.) on route 42 just off 27/441, traffic was heavy in both directions. One of those Marion County citizen patrol cars was coming out of a gas station wanting to cross to the other side of the road...................soooooooo.........he just went. Cars in every direction slammed on brakes, skidding to a stop. He was damn near broadsided by not one, but two cars. One from each direction.
Pardon me for putting it this way, but it was a real old fart move. We don't think he even saw the cars, even after they skidded to a stop. He just looked straight ahead, hunched forward toward the steering wheel, with both hands at the top of the wheel. My guess is the guy has long since seen his 70th birthday. Boy do I feel safe.
