Yep, already gone! Travelling the US in our travel trailer. Left The Villages 4/20, visiting family in AZ. Heading north to Glacier NP after. Vaccinated, wear masks when required, golfing our way around the country!

It's amazing how many are still drinking the kool-aid.....
It seems to me that the thread was started to feel good because some other people also were very reckless last summer and fall and STILL lived through it. Good for those people! They were lucky! Risky but LUCKY! But, I just wonder how many people were INFECTED by these RECKLESS people (that just enjoyed their lives as they spread it around)? How many of the 900,000 estimated American DEATHS were caused by the happy-go-lucky RECKLESS types? We may NEVER know - maybe when we die some Saint will make a video about just that?

AND if I ever get the urge to visit another country again, I can take a quick trip to Epcot to remind me of what I have LIVED for many years. You can't go to any country in the world where you won't observe American T shirts with writing in English, hear American rock songs and see American automobiles. If you ride a cruise ship to enjoy the buffet food, just take a trip to Golden Corral. If you cruise to use the gambling facilities, there are casinos within an hour drive from the Villages. Sorry if I am a downer for some, but the truth is that you are gambling your health when you go on those cruise lines. Look at how many come back every year to port with at least half the passengers coming home with some illness. Similar to folks that fly a lot. Look at how many folks that fly get to their destination and have a cold or flu. For what? To enjoy a duplicate of home away from home?
I like the way you think. Make your paradise right wherever you are. Personally, I would rather watch a movie than go on a cruise. I would NOT even take a free cruise. My idea of exciting would be to drive to Daytona and swim in the ocean. Or take a kayak trip around a lake in TV Land.

Sorry, but NO ONE knows if there will be long term side effects from the mRNA vaccines. This is the first time they have been tried on humans. Short term the vaccines are certainly safe, long term, NO ONE knows...

And, by chance, if something does happen down the road, the class-action slip and fall lawyers will be out of luck. The vaccine manufacturers made a deal with the government to protect them against lawsuits. I guess everybody will have to put the blame on you-know-who.

From following these threads I have come to the conclusion that 99% of the people barely have a clue what the facts are, but they all have an opinion based on nothing factual. And before everyone goes off the deep end, I include myself in that group.

Yep, and I am tired of commenting with facts that are ignored by some to fit their personal agenda

Never Been Done Before?

mRNA vaccines have been tested in humans before, for at least four infectious diseases: rabies, influenza, cytomegalovirus, and Zika.

They have experimented with mRNA vaccines for 20 years.
This is quote is directly from the link you provided:
“The extra boost from the urgency of the pandemic and the government funding they received allowed them to conduct large-scale clinical trials at almost the same time that they were tweaking their formulations. By the time Moderna and Pfizer submitted their data to the Food and Drug Administration for Emergency Use Authorization, about 30,000 people in the Moderna trial (including my wife) and over 43,000 in the Pfizer trial had received the vaccine.”
That’s it. There have been no long term trials. The FACT is that NO ONE knows if there will be any long term side effects from the vaccine.

Well, there HAVE been long term trials from NOT getting the vaccine.

600,000 non-vaccinated Americans have DIED.

Take your pick!

If I was in the high risk category, I would have gotten the vaccine. According to the CDC, based on all people my age, the chances of me being hospitalized with Covid is 266.3 in 100,000. That’s .00266. Also according to the CDC 87% of those hospitalized were obese or overweight, I am neither. That drops my odds to .000346. Also according to the CDC, those hospitalized had an average of 2.4 of these preexisting conditions; heart disease, lung disease, diabetes or hypertension. Since I also have none of those issues, the chances of me being hospitalized with Covid are considerably less than .000346.
I choose not to accept the long term uncertainty based on my odds. Enjoy your cruise...

Human trials of cancer vaccines using the same mRNA technology have been taking place since 2011. "If there was a real problem with the technology, we'd have seen it before now for sure," said Prof. Goldman.

Because the technology can be deployed extremely rapidly, and clinical trials have been so successful, mRNA platforms will be an important means of preparing for future epidemics, he says.

Very, very small phase 1 trials. Virtually no historical data. I like my odds. Enjoy your cruise.

"For somebody who's already been fully vaccinated, they can wear the mask out of solidarity or in a symbolic sense, but their wearing a mask indoors is not benefiting anyone else," explained Vinay Prasad, an epidemiologist and biostatistician at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

"There's an infinitesimally low probability of even having an infection that can be detected on a PCR test, let alone being able to spread it to someone," he added

Most indoor mask guidelines may be on way out in U.S., experts say
