Default Are you tired of hearing Blowers at 7am?

I am sick and tired of lawn service companies firing up their mowers and blowers at 7 am. My neighbors yard is mowed on Saturday morning and it never fails that at 7 am the noise starts. I wish we could get The Villages to regulate a later time they can start mowing. The lawn mower is not my biggest issue, but the clipping blower. It seems that it whines well above the db level of the mower. Can we stop them?

It sounds like a good idea to have a time that lawn care can be started. The ones in our neighborhood start at 8am or later. Go to http://www.districtgov.org/index.asp and choose the area you live in--LSL or North side. You should find the group to make the suggestion to.

These workers need to work when it is a little more cool. Have a heart.

I was "a worker" for 40 years, and I would never have considered mowing my yard at 7 in the morning before work. In Fort Lauderdale it was often quite warm at 5:30 at night when I mowed after work. Hearts aside, the workers (and their employers) need to be more considerate. Why is 7 the perfect hour to start...why not 6 or 5? Actually 8 or 9 sounds better.

We live in Sumter, south of 466. The rules (in the covenant?) read that quiet time is after 10 pm and before 8 am. I would think that would apply to lawn mowers, etc.

Another thing I think would be nice, is if neighborhoods would group together and get the same lawn care service people. You could probably get a discount rate, and the nice thing is that the mowing would all be done on the same day of the week. We have about 10 diffrent mowing companies in our neighborhood, and it seems like we listen to constant mowing every day.

LIL Dancer. I agree--maybe each neighborhood should hire same company.
