why would I want to get a fake smell for and I don’t think that was what was meant in original post

Most unusual smells are great, for a moment, then they become noxious -- examples, gas, permanent marker, etc.

I like some strains of marijuana, but only for a couple of seconds to a minute, then it becomes a nuisance.

I have one weird smell to share -- red meat -- it makes me gag. I have to be careful when I grill to not smell raw beef or pork or I will dry-heave.

Smells have memory. Smells take me back to long forgotten experiences as a child or young adult.

Puppy's breath is NUMBER ONE in my book, all day long!! To smell it means that I am close enough to kiss all over that puppy's face! If I could bottle that smell, I would.
#2 on the list is fresh cut grass
I do love the smell of a cigar too

I love the smell of very old churches. Must be from incense.

I once called in an air strike at close quarters to protect my team instead of high explosives they dropped Napalm a big whooop luckily by a miracle none of us were burned but I tell you the smell from that day is always with me
