2nd visit
We are coming down for a second visit next month. We plan on moving there within the next 18 months. We are going to look at all kinds of housing in all areas. Is there anthing else we should be doing or anyone we should talk to while we are there to learn about as much about TV as we can. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Living in Paradise
TV is the greatest retirement community. We have only lived here full-time for 13 months. We are busy about 5 days per week. We go to rec centers and play cards, Dominoes, etc. Living here is like being on vacation 24/7.

You should attend a Community Development District Orientation to learn how the districts operate. It's different from "up north."
This link explains it http://www.districtgov.org/vccdd/school.asp |

Besides this site, go out and visit places, the town squares at night, Rec Centers, etc and talk to us The Villagers! We will tell you everything good and bad (although we have not found the bad yet!).

...and one of the reasons there isn't much that is "bad" is that before you make a decision you follow the champ's advice on learning about the VCDD. Many of the complaints you see here are from folks who didn't research what they were buying into and then are frustrated by "the rules."
One other suggestion I will offer is to make a list of the things you think are important in a home. For example - we wanted a private rear yard, so we found a lot with a villa wall in back. Our list had "must haves", "like to haves" and "do not wants." In the end there is always compromise, but this saves you being emotionally swayed by some wonderful feature - like a Viking range or beautiful landscaping - in a home that otherwise does not fit your criteria. Good luck! Kate
