Default Banking?

I am arriving soon and would like some feedback on banking favorites. I am looking for a bank that has good ATM availability with no fees, good and reliable online bill paying, and a friendly staff (if that is possible anymore). I realize this is somewhat of a personal favorites sort of question, but I'd like to know who you all think is good and who I might stay away from. Thanks.

Citizens First Bank offers everything you ask for and do it with a smile. That's my vote.

We also use Citizens First. Very friendly with lots of ATMs.

One thought if a snowbird. A friend of ours has a house up north and in TV. He uses Chase since they have banks in both locations. Wish I thought of that before we moved down permanently, would have made things much easier than having 2 of everything so we could access our money wherever we were.

Another option is BB&T. We have used them for over 10 years, first in VA then here. We have been extremely satisfied. They don't have as many ATM locations as Citizens, which is tied into the developer and therefore has a monopoly on ATM locations on Villages property, but there are tow branches accessible by golf cart, one near Colony Plaza and one in Southern Trace Plaza. There are a number of branches close by via car, including Wildwood, in Lady Lake on 441 near Rolling Acres Rd, and a number between here and Leesburg. They also offer the advantage of other locations throughout Florida and the south when you travel.

My vote goes to SunTrust. There is a $7.00 fee if your balance goes under $500.00, but that's manageable. Several locations around TV which are golf cart accessible and many Wal-Marts have SunTrust branches and, of course, are throughout the South.

We also use Sun Trust, it was an easy transfer for us from Maryland because we had Sun Trust up there. However, this past week I noticed in Walmart on 466 they have closed the Sun Trust branch. It was convenient plus on Saturday they were open until 4pm. So now on Saturday all we have is the ATM at the bank row branch on 466.

You can get better deals on a mortgage or some other products---but for my money :

services and availability
locations
no fee ATM
bill pay and popcorn you can not beat Citizens

good luck

I've used Chase for many years (from NY). I also use Citizens First. Both good. Chase has ATM's in Walgreens and a branch office on 466. CFB is everywhere. It is owned by the developer.

I agree with Citizens First Bank. ATMs at every mail stop and other places, a great online banking system, and free popcorn at all of the brick and mortar buildings.

They also have safety deposit boxes at some of the buildings and the personnel are always happy to see you. Some of the CFB banks have in-house services on Saturday and others have drive-in services on Saturday.

I have Citizens and Bank of America. I like Bank of America because i had it when I lived in Virginia, now in Michigan and I can also use it in TV. Unfortunately, their branch in Adrian was just sold to another bank.

I opened a Citizen's account last year as our realtor recommended it for our closing.

Citizens is good with ATM's at every Village postal center. However another good option is Schwab. They have an office in LSL and no ATM fees at any ATM. Both have good online bill pay.
