We moved in 5 days ago. When we decided to move to TV we were positive that we would buy a brand new home in Sumter County, close to rec centers, etc....then a friend said there was a resale behind him that was a good deal. That started it and now we are thrilled that we bought a resale in Village of Cortez ! Location, location, location ! Even with a resale there are alot of upgrades and changes that need to be done or things that you will want to change. We are a very short golf cart ride away from stores, Spanish Springs, three pools, pickleball, tennis, golf, etc...etc...etc.

I'm sad that we have to go back to Tampa today for a week to finish up some things there, but we'll be back on the weekend. We love being Villagers and you will too.

It is just to difficult to even attempt to explain this place to friends and relatives who have not seen the light......to me it's sumer camp but luckily your parents forgot to come pick you up at the end !!! Of course we can't explain the Medicare system in Florida either. They refuse to believe that we are not paying hundreds of dollars extra per month and they are sure it's some kind of fraud to even mention that some people do get money back each month ! Oh well, they are like horses, you can lead them to water but you can't make them drink !

Instead of the koolaid reference I like to say that at your closing you have a computer chip embedded in your shoulder so that if you ever stray to far away from TV, the chip will guide you back.

When you get to the end of your street erase all those remarks from your mind. Come on down, you'll love it.

Default Summer Camp

[QUOTE=

I thought i was the only one that ever happened to. The first time, my camp counselors thought my parents just had the wrong date, after the third summer, they kinda saw a pattern!!!!
After much research, i've decided when i come back in August i'm buying pre-owned, and for many of the valid reasons already stated in this thread.

well, we bought new, but certainly considered pre-owned,
either way

new is a clean canvas, but your location is pretty well minimized.
pre-owned gives you broader location, but it will need to be re-done to suit you.. .

either way, enjoy

Thanks 07! I thought both of them were built by the TV developer. I see that is not the case. Thanks for the correction.

Default Do not build in villages of parkwood

Bison is owned by one company, Parkwood (the next subdivision down from Bison) is owned by Peter.

Peter scams people into the neighborhood with promises of building this and that (to make it more Village friendly) but not acting on his word.
He is a "yes man" until you build and move in.....then he is impossible to deal with. He is out for a quick dollar, trying to stay afloat in the economy. He charges over 30 percent above costs, however these innocent people do not know any better. We have two close friends who were caught up in his "yes" scams and are stuck living there. Be very cautious if you decide to deal with his company.

Parkwood is not part of The Villages, for any new people who may be logging in.
