Smile Freedom 55 - Steelers fans - Cdn. baby boomers

Hi folks
We're heading down to The Villages next Tuesday, Nov 1st, to enjoy a 2 week vacation and shop for our very own TV retirement home. So exciting!!
Wondering about best places to watch the STEELERS games while we're there, and any great info to help a pair of Newbies learn the ropes.
Other baby boomers, Italians, Canadians, rock fans, card players - 31, euchre, cribbage, hearts, 500, etc. Scrabblers, Golfers, laughers, pot-luckers.
We have a wonderful Golden Doodle girlie and would love to join or form a dog-sitting co-op for vacations and even day trips.
Keep that sun there..... we're on our way, and can hardly wait!!
Penny and Carlo (snow on the way this Friday - Yikes!)

Villages Canucks:

to TOTV as I see this is your first post.

I have heard Beef O'Grady is one place you can go to but get there early.

We're Canucks who purchased in TV in 2007. We're very excited for you. We always enjoy our 182 days each year in The Bubble. We'd offer to show you around, but our departure from Ontario has been delayed this year by knee surgery.

I see that you are new to TOTV. Your best friend is the "Search" function on the blue band above. There is a wealth of info available from previous threads on every topic imaginable.

Good luck to you. Please feel free to ask any questions or PM us.

Last year there was a new Club formed for Canucks. I believe they already have more than 200 members. There will be a kick-off meeting of The Loonies and Toonies Club on November 9, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at La Hacienda.

The large dog in my Avatar is Lollipop, our rescue Portugese Water Dog. The little guy is Biggins, a poodle/terrier. Each Fall we pack up our SUV with two dogs, our 19 year old cat, and my husband's motorcycle for our annual trek to TV. A 26 hour drive, but it's worth it!

You can go to Hacienda Hills CC, there is usually about 75-85 Ravens fans there each Sunday. Just make sure you wear your steeler stuff. OK, maybe not such a good idea. From what I've heard the steeler people go to the Beef O'Brady in Wildwood, and don't believe any of the stories you hear about Wildwood.

Welcome, Canucks! What village will you be staying in? There's also a Beef O'Brady's in Colony Plaza. Not sure which one does the Steelers' games. Go Bucks!

Hi there
We'll be staying in Creekside Landings, on Merryweather Way. We'll have a car and a golf cart, so we can skoot around, wherever....

If you hit the Quote button on the message to which you're replying, it will display that message at the top of your reply. So far you're doing fine!

Creekside is a very convenient place to stay. Cody's restaurant is just a few blocks from Creekside, on Lake Sumter. It seems to be a Sport Bar, lots of TVs. So Codys would probably switch to whatever game you want to watch.

The monthly Loonies and Toonies meeting at La Hacienda is a great way to keep in touch with Canadian friends. Frannie, I look forward to meeting you in February!
