This is a coincidence that you relay "it could happen before you know it". I work for the government and just yesterday decided to take another look at a retirement estimate that was done for me earlier in the year by my retirement rep. I noticed my service calculation date was off by a year as I know I began employment a year later. I gave the rep a call and she said that the 1.5 years I worked for the government in the late 80s was counted, so I will make my 20 year goal 1.5 years earlier than I thought. So now I am at 5.5 years to retirement instead of 7

Any hoo, so happy for you that you found the house of your dreams. Probably because of my colonial roots I am really drawn to the older Cypress model, but then again we do want to downsize so not sure if that will be too much house for us in 5 years. There was an absolutely gorgeous Cypress that sold about 6 months ago that had my name all over it. Maybe by the time we are ready to buy that same house will be on the market again.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, and don't forget to post some pictures!!!

Default to Nightingale

Nightingale, hooray for you.....glad to hear that you could be here sooner.

I would not call this the house of my dreams but it is the house of my budget ;-). Not complaining, very thankful at this point.

We just moved from a big house on a big property.
Do NOT miss it one bit!

We started calling that house (our dream house) the
MONEY PIT!

Life here is good.

Congrats on your move!

We are headed back to Indiana tomorrow. Will have a garage sale next weekend with all kids and grandkids staying at the house (crazy I know) Then I have 2 weeks to pack everything up and be back move it all down here....(after I give everything I can to my kids and donat and sell). Way tooo tooo busy and fast.....sure hope I can sleep some.....my mind has too much on it....like saying all of the goodbyes and getting everything done on my to do list. Well with being sooo busy, it will keep me from crying about leaving the kids and grandkids!!!!
