Good Point. We lived that last 20 plus years in Atlanta Georgia and Washington D.C. and I find TV a lot more friendly but not really safer. In those locations we had a fair amount of purpose committed crimes, where here, due to the age of our population we have a fair amount of violent accidents.

I love Reno.

We lived there in the early 60's, when my Dad was stationed at Stead AFB (long since closed)...and I've been back numerous times.

For a young kid, it didn't get much better than having a root beer in The Bucket of Blood or spending Friday/Saturday nights watching the dirt track racers at Lemon Valley Speedway (also long gone).

A lot of people don't know of the plethora of activities that are close to Reno.

From Lake Tahoe, to Lake Lahonton, to Virginia City.....there's plenty to do on the weekends.

As to feeling safe in TV, we feel as safe here...as any place we've ever lived.

I have felt safe everywhere I've lived too.
Well, maybe not when I had an apartment in NYC so much.

I feel much safer in T.V. then even in Tampa (suburbs).

Thanks for the interesting stats!

We bring with us the feelings of our old places.

In my opinion, this is as safe as any place in this country.

but...I am a grown up with grown up skepticism about any situation.

Fortunately, none of us were born yesterday or fell off the turnip truck.

Personally since more people are injured and killed by alcohol related incidents than guns, I am more worried about my safety in TV than I was living in NYC and NJ. No one seems to want to give up drinking to save lives. Why is that? At least guns provide protection and sport. Alcohol does not and yet look what happened the last time it was banned. No one really wants to save lives if it inconveniences them personally but are more than willing to ban things they have no interest in. This is a basic truth of life.

The only place I don't feel safer here is on the roads and parking lots at the stores.

I feel extremely safe in the villages. I think my neighbors in the villages are more aware of whats going on in our neighborhood than my "up north" neighbors that have kids, jobs, etc. to worry about and occupy their minds.
