Default Gated Roads

I have heard that the roads in Marion CO. are the only TRUE gated roads in TV. Is this so?
Also, are the RE taxes more or less than the other CO's

No comment on gates

I believe taxes are lower in the counties that have the bonds. Lake County is a couple dollars higher per thousand, but you get city services from the City of Lady Lake. Marion is a bit higher than Sumter.

The reason the Marion county portion of TV is gated is because Marion county does not maintain the "main" roads inside of the Marion county portion of the Villages. We Villagers that live in Marion county have to pay for the maintenance so we do not want vehicles using our roads as a shortcut to get from the end if the Villages to Buena Vista. We prefer that they use the main artery (Rt 42) and take Buena Vista through the Villages.

We even had the buttons removed so the drivers could not get the gates opened from the central office but there is an ambiguous problem with FEMA and access so we had to put the buttons back.

I thought District 4 had to pay for the maintenance of Buena Vista, as well??? While the county of Sumter pays for the maintenance of the portion of Buena Vista that runs through Sumter county. Am I wrong?

Marion county pays for Buena Vista. It is a public road.

If Buena Vista in Marion County is a public road why isn't it called 159th Place Road SE (right next to 239th street loop boulevard WNW)

Marion County's road names are verrry strange!

So if the buttons are back on then anyone can access the Marion CO properties and they are therefore Not Gated?

After the tornado in Feb 2006, it was determined that all neighborhoods had to be open the public in order to recieve FEMA funds. While there are gates and gate keepers anyone can come into the individual villages at any hour of the day or night, no questions asked. Apparently this has everything to do with FEMA and not a decision the developer made after construction.

Any gate, especially manned or just with camera, is better than no gate, but the term "gated" is used loosely around TV -- FWIW --

Question Cameras at gates?

Do the unmanned gates have cameras on the non-resident entries?
