Default Golf Cart Insurance

I came here this week to spend some time in my new Courtyard Villa and I have been informed that I need to get myself some golf cart insurance before I run over a fellow TVer. My question is, Do I go to my homeowners or auto insurance company to put it on as a rider. Also which local insurance company has the best deal for golf cart insurance?
Thanks, Bill from Duval & MA

Red face Golf cart insurance...

I'm not sure if this is a good rate or NOT--(maybe someone can tell me)....but, I get my golf cart insurance through FOREMOST---and The Insurance Agency of The Villages, INC got me the coverage. It is $68.68 for the year---and it covers 250,000 EA PERS/500,000 EA ACCIDENT for bodily injury $100,000 each accident for Property Damage.....and Medical payments of $5000 for each person

It also covers DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE COLLISION (ACV not to exceed $5000 with a $500 deductible) and OTHER THAN COLLISION (ACV not to exceed $5000 less $500 deductible )

Hope this helps!

The best thing is check with your normal Ins Company. It depends how your various policies are written up presently to if they can add or must be seperate.
That is a good quote, go for it.

So this is hearsay from one of the other threads that occured not too long ago about golf insurance: Someone posted that if you add golf as a rider to homeowner, and have a golf cart claim, they can raise the rate on your homeowner policy.
It sounds plausible, and I would check it out before adding ot to the HO policy.
I have separate insurance on my cart and it runs about $136 year.

Default Golf cart insurance...

My golf cart insurance is separate from my homeowners policy. Golf cart insurance is with FOREMOST...home insurance is with another company.
So, $68.68 is a good price??

Default foremost, great company

I haven't move to TV yet but i do use Foremost and they are great !! No one would insure my older mobile but they did here in Oregon.. i have had it for 4 years now and i had a claim when a tree came down on my home shortly after moving in.. an adjuster came the following day.. and they took care of the full amount minus a $250 deductible..were great to work with!!
