Default gutters

I have noticed that most of the houses both new & old only put gutters over the entrances. Do any of you think it is necessary to put them all the way around like they do up north?

It wouldn't hurt anything and could be beneficial. I planned to add them to our place but that was before the bubble burst and the Wall St went in the tank.

Default Gutters useful

We have been here 4 mo and have a designer Wisteria. The first big rain while living in our new house, the water was just pouring down the side of the house. We called warranty dept and got the name of the co. who installed our front gutters. They came out and installed back gutters for $276. Then my hubby planted some flowers along side the house (dug out the grass). The next big rain and it washed away some of the flowers. We called the gutter installers out again and they installed a gutter alongside the house $82. Not that expensive and they do a good job.

Thanks for your reply, jnieman. We've never lived in a house without full gutters and were concerned. It's good to hear this positive message and to find out that the cost and installation are not too expensive. Coco

We used Hill's Seamless Gutters all around the house and we are very pleased. Although it does not rain much when it does it seems to pour and we wanted the water going away from the house. We learned about Hill's from a previous thread on TOTV.

Smile Gutters

We had gutters installed in the back and side of the house. He also checked the front gutters and found that they needed securing. He did a great job for ~$150.00. We noticed that the dew was dripping on the back and making holes near the house. Glad we had then installed. I agree with installing them for peace of mind. JanetandCarol
