Welcome Cobalt! We too are wannabees, but hope to rectify that within the next few months. We took the lifestyle preview in '10 and spent the month of April in '11. It doesn't take long to convince anyone who likes an active retirement lifestyle that this is the place to be, including my wife who was originally reluctant to even visit much less purchase here and now can't wait. As avid "cruisers" you will fit right in as the best description I have heard for TV is from our friend redwitch -- "A cruise ship on land".

Hi! Good to know that we aren't the only ones not living in TV but really, really looking forward to it. Life here in Michigan has been good but the thought of retiring here and turning into vegetables every winter is waaay too depressing. I'm having fun just looking at all the posts and getting a feel of the various personalities. We went on a cruise last month and that is where we heard of the Villages...a lady sharing our table lives there and is quite happy. As soon as I got home I ordered the video and we are planning a trip down (maybe next month!) We're in the process of getting our home ready for sale (I'm a realtor, which should be helpful). Once this is done, hopefully we will rent a place for a while here until my husbands business is sold...then TV here we come! It's so nice to have something so great to look forward to!

Trish,
Welcome to you Trish. Guess what? No matter how good TV sounds to you-- it's even better. Wait 'til you meet the people in TV! Best wishes selling your home and moving down to Lower Paradise.

Trish, Definitely visit TV. If you call the TV sales office, they can arrange a Lifestyle visit for you and your husband. I will be renting in TV next month for one week -- July 7 please hurry! Keeping my fingers crossed that I can return to TV in October for one week. When the time comes closer for me to actually buy, I also plan on taking the Lifestyle visit. Good luck to you!

Hello fellow Hoosiers! We were sold on TV for the last 10 years or so. As soon as our home sells we are Florida bound. I learned so much on this site. My husband is retired at 57 and I plan on working for a few more years. I already have my Florida Nursing License . We visited for a few days in 2007 and a week this year. No doubt about it, it is the right choice for us. Welcome !

Welcome to all the newcomers! As I write this I'm surrounded by a swarm of movers - on Saturday we will be frogs!
Not to hijack - but I'd like to recommend NOT doing the Lifestyle when it's time to buy - when we did the LSP we wanted to play, play, play! There's only so much time in the day, and with the coupons we were given we didn't want to "waste" time househunting. Do the LSP, then maybe when you're ready to buy do the second LSP which, IME anyway, was less generous with the coupons.
