Default Homeowners Insurance agent? an coverage items

we are needing homeowners insurance, who have you found that will treat you as a person,, NOT a number,, that is compente and prices that are in line. I realize there is no free lunch. What have you found the must have for coverage items? I understand we all have different homes and limits, but what items do feel are must haves and what to leave off. We are worried bout sinkhole issue, as all of us are in this area. Thanks in advance for any knowledge you care to share

Up north our agent knew us by name and could pick us out of a crowd. The villages agents are all very knowledgeable. But unless you are friends they probably won't know you or what policy's without looking you up. For awhile we had three houses, and golf carts with same agent. Sadly she had no idea who we were or what policy's we had. They deal with volume. And yet our mortgage guy knows us well.

The Villages Insurance was wonderful. We worked with Fay. She has the patience of a saint. Haven't seen or heard a bad thing about them at all. Good Luck.

We have been here about 6 years now and have changed agents several times trying to find the right one for us. We own rentals and golf carts and our own house, and have found a gentleman, Rocky Moore, to be very good. He will discuss all aspects of a policy with you and is very patient. Not pushy at all. Call him and see for yourself if he will work for you.

Mary and I also use AAA they have sinkhole coverage and a lot of the others either have very high deductibles or don't offer it at all. Talk to Sandra.

We use Shannon Decker at Villages Insurance for house and vehicles. She's in Colony Plaza and is very accommodating.

Villageshooter,

There are 2 forms of 'sinkhole' insurance, the first is built into your home insurance policy and kicks in if the home is declared total loss, the additional insurance covers you for a sinkhole that DAMAGES your house but does not total it. This typically has a deductible of 10% of the value of the house. If you are confused, welcome to Florida. We use AAA and they provided a nice description of the details on the insurance, and we have both coverages.
Hope this helps.
