Question What is on your lamp post sign?

I purchased a new CYV in Bonita in December and my sales agent provided me with a gift certificate for a sign for my lamp post. I have noticed that most people put their first and last name along with the house number on the sign. Being single, I'm not sure that I want my first and last name on the sign--a possible security issue for me. I'm having a difficult time figuring out what I should do for the sign. I have come up with some options but am looking for input from the great members of TOTV. The options I can think of are:
  1. Both my first and last name on the sign along with house number
  2. Just my last name on the sign along with house number
  3. Only the house number on the sign
  4. Other suggestions?
Any input, suggestions, etc., will be greatly appreciated. I will be at my villa April 15-20 and would like to have the sign installed while I am there so I will be able to see it.

Karen

As a single person, I went with my house number, with my last name under it. A palm tree on each side.

As a paranoid New Yorker, I'd put the house number only. First and last name are way to much information to just hang out there. But that's just me as lots of folks have signs with all that info on it.
I know a single person who has her first name only. All seems OK with her.
And I must say I've never heard of anyone having a problem as a result of the names on the sign.

Hi,

When my husband was in TV last week to check on our house, some of our friends (who have first and last name(s) plus house number) said that at a community meeting they were advised that this is a security problem and one of the ways the recent break ins occurred.

I know I am repeating this third hand, but I think if I were a single woman I would just have my house number. I don't think I would do a first name as it advertises "single woman living alone."

I have my last name and the house number...if you really want security, put a dog bone sign under it with the name "Brutus"...or maybe, "Vader".....just a thought

I love it!

Who would guess that "Brutus" is really a 9.5 pound Maltipoo named Finley.

Default Names....

We decided to name our abode and just put the name of the house and the number. This way you can always tell if your visitor is one who is invited as they do not know your name.

To many scammers out there can do to much damage with little information.

BS,

They can steal much worse than a TV or jewelry - they can steal your identity. Not trying to be paranoid, but identity theft is real. It took one of my colleagues (a CPA) nearly two years to undo all the damage.

Not trying to be the grim reaper, but...
