Talking More newbies headed for Lake Deaton

Hello fellow Villagers!

We are finally making our permanent move into The Village of Lake Deaton during the first week in September and are looking forward to the lifestyle that The Villages have to offer.

This will be the culmination of our journey to TV that started about 3 years ago. We are Pittsburgh, PA natives (I understand there are a few others here) and we had very good friends that moved into Pinellas. Of course they loved it and encouraged us to take a look. Long story short: a day trip up from Disney World led to the LifeStyle stay and several subsequent visits.. found our dream home on Florahome Way, drank the kool-aid, and the rest is our new history.

We are currently going crazy doing the normal things... managing the move, looking for new STUFF for the new home, sorting out what services to use and which ones to avoid, figuring out which golf cart to buy, etc. etc. all of which will be well worth the effort when we finally pull in the driveway.

We absolutely love Lake Deaton, we have been blessed with terrific neighbors, have one of the best set of views in TV and, thus far have had wonderful interactions with all of the people and places.

We are "stoked"... just wanted to give everyone fair warning... we are on our way!!!

Welcome!!!
We're just up the street on Quietwoods, will be arriving at least for the winter end October and hopefully permanent if our house sells. Pretty much the same story, had a lifestyle preview tacked on to a Disney vacation, bought 4 days later (No. not rash, had done my research, comparisons, and just needed to see it for myself---my brother owned here prior to his passing). Hope to see you around

Thanks to all for your welcoming messages! Thus far TV is living up to the "friendliest hometown" label... your participation in this thread is just further proof that we have a great community here.

Looking forward to joining you full time ourselves sometime early next year. We have a place on Indianwood a few blocks away. Just waiting for our house to sell to make the final arrangements!

Newbie, just a heads up. We never use the term "final arrangements". You can proceed now.

We are on Innfields Ct just a few blocks from you....been here three days and are crazed. We lived in Lehigh Valley 18 years and then in Mexico for seven years. We are in culture shock and have had to buy everything from flatware to dishtowels....exhausting but so far we are very happy in Lake Deaton. We think it is very beautiful here. We hope to meet some of our neighbors soon.

You must have a great view as we enjoy the views while walking your street from Quietwoods Drive. My wife and I would also say welcome even though we are still in Ohio and eager to spend the winter in the Village of Lake Deaton to meet everyone. I am the senior of the two brothers who live on Quietwoods Drive separated by six houses.

Congrats. Best wishes as you start living the dream.

BTW - It's worth making "final arrangements" to get here, as opposed to, the other final arrangements.

Default OP update

After an epic 18 hour straight through drive from Pittsburgh, my wife (Ramona), our traumatically car-sick cat (Scooter), and I arrived last weds morning! Most of the drive was at night and thankfully so... we could not believe how much construction was being done and the 77/26/95 "corridor"... we probably lost 2.5 to 3.5 travel hours due to the work zone impacts.

But at last, we are "frogs" and are loving life "in the bubble". It was well worth the wait.

Thanks to all who took the time to respond to our thread here. I'm sure we will be running into folks (hopefully not with our new cart!) either in the neighborhood or in our virtual world of TOTV.

Sam
