I need some info on getting things for our new home. I don't know who to go to for lawn service or pest control service. we will be coming there in August and we will need to know where to go for furniture. Also we will need a washer and dryer. As you can tell we need a lot of help. Thanks for any help you can give me. Ginny

WELCOME TO TV. We've used these 2 for several years and are very happy with the service, Laguna Lawn 352-638-4347, Bay Area Pest Control, 352-245-4522. As for furniture stores check the yellow pages there are plenty of stores to choose from....GN

Congrats, Ginny. I'm jealous... still a TV Gonna Be.

I suggest that you go the Contractors and Services section of this forum. There are many messages on these topics there.

Hi Ginny,

Congratulations. If you do a search on the poster ZCAVEMAN, you will find his tips on moving to TV. Click search, then advanced so you can enter the name of the poster and then a key word or two (such as moving) and you will find it. This list is the absolute best.

Good luck.

Kate

PS - for the washer/dryer, I would try Moon's appliances. They are local. My husband was in the appliance business for 25 years, so I always like to support the local guys.

I ordered my Washer and Dryer online from Home Depot. It was very simple and the questions I had were quickly answered by the "on line chat" Was even able to pick a Saturday delivery date since we will only be there for a few days this time.

Welcome. I completely echo what Kate said above. Caveman's posts for new owners are great. They have really helped me and my wife as we are going through that process now.

shopping abounds here, you can find all you need pretty easily.
Don't forget walmart too, for all those smaller items you'll need.

get/use a phone book if you have to do some of this remote.
