Look at the blog "For Sale" homes, might find what you are looking for from an owner at a better price with no real estate fees. The villages sales office is only concerned with selling you a new home at a higher price. We were lucky enough to be one of the last who could design their own home and we paid for it but love it.

Don't look only with an MLS realtor! And don't look exclusively with a VLS (Village Sales) rep! I felt fortunate in that both my MLS and VLS rep advised to do just that, use both since the properties they sell are mutually exclusive, it's the only way to see the whole market on what's available.

In our own case, we spent alternating days with each until we found the right one.
