There was a mix up yesterday with the cabinets. They are now scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. Depending upon the time of delivery, I should have pics either late Thursday or Friday. The pantry won't be hard because the cabinets are the regular style that I just have to set into place and screw into the wall. The craft room cabinets have to be put together (oh joy, joy, joy)...lol

No conspiracy! This one was all on A-4! I just had some insider information... The surprise was all Bob's! What a guy!!!
Actually Rusty and Bob, we all owe both of you a lot of gratitude for the pictures and spreadsheet! Indeed, we are a lucky and awesome group and I cannot imagine being anywhere else in my retirement. Our little group speaks volumes as to the life that awaits us and all the good things in our futures! Yep, gonna be awesome!

Cool How About It ????

How about one of those world famous dang Rusty pictures of your surprise? There's a whole bunch of people out there that are wanting to see what all the fuss was about.

Buy the way, now I don't feel bad about asking you for pictures and finished dimensions of Janice's craft room and the pantry wall.

Default Surprise

Hey Everyone! Well, I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag. It's been a long running joke between A-4, Hotrod and myself about how much A-4 owes us in beer for questions answered and measurements taken! It had gotten so bad that A-4 was ready to bring a Corona truck to TV to pay his debt. So, he cooked up the idea of telling me that I was going to have a big surprise on Wednesday...really amping up the pressure and stress factor! But, to his chagrin, the USPS was more efficient than he ever thought they could be and his surprise arrived early, on Tuesday evening.

After all the machinations, A-4 did me a solid....here it is...

I know that A-4 is a jet jockey and I've been around those guys enough to know that they always do something off the wall and never do anything half way so I had no idea what to expect. I will say that he hit the nail on the head and made a perfect decision. As a result of his good neighborliness, I consider all of his beer debt to have been paid in full! Although, he still has to settle up with Hotrod!!!

Now, for the rest of the story. The painter arrived at the house at 7:30 sharp and got both accent walls painted in about 2 hours. The cabinets for the pantry and craft room arrived about an hour after the painter left. The driver was a nice guy who let me borrow his hand truck to get the monsters in the house and set in place in the pantry. Janice got there just in time to help me put together one of the two craft room cabinets. By the time that was done I was whipped and decided to let the other one go until tomorrow. Went home and took a nap!

At 6:30 we met Andy & Wendy at the Lighthouse for dinner & drinks before they take the flight across the pond tomorrow! Wonderful & funny people and we had a blast enjoying their company. I hope they hurry back soon (November) so Andy can sample some hand crafted stout that is proper beer. Just another confirmation that Gilchrist is going to rock when we all get there!

Tomorrow morning the movers are emptying out the storage unit and trucking the last of our meager possessions to the new house. The final move is scheduled for Friday which just consists of rounding up the stray items in the condo and finally sleeping in our new home. Can't wait till this process is over!

Checked on CalcTeacher and Hotrods build very quickly today. There was some grading work going on at Calc's home but I was so tired when I left the house I didn't check to see what was going on. Had to drive by Hotrod's digs when we left and she now has a roof and windows in her humble abode. Tomorrow should be interesting on both lots. I'll post pics of Hotrod's sometime tomorrow if I survive the day. I've also got pics of the accent walls (new reading area) in the living room and the storage cabinets in the pantry and craft room that I will try to get up ASAP.

So, that's the rest of the story. I'm beat and have to be up early in the a.m. Hope everyone has a great night!

Default The Surprise . . . . . . .

So, how many people in the world have a T-shirt with Corona spelled backwards.

When A-4 does something . . . . I don't go half way . . . . just backwards.

Go to my profile and look at the album I added last night. My shirt was spelled correctly. Now THIS IS FUNNY

MntBoy and A4:
Love the shirt. I've always found that the best and most honest view of life is looking at it all in a mirror. And, that it's much more exciting when you ride with two wheels on the rumble strip.
