Default Calc's Got Quite a Place!!!

Hi Lady & Gents!!! Still making wonderful progress. The drywall has been mudded and taped and I even managed to get a pic of one of the workers. Man, was he ever tall!!!

Your lanai is soooo beautiful...I'm so jealous!!!

Default Millie's Place!

Hi Ladies & Gent! Your home is coming along beautifully. You guys are really neck in neck with Calc although you still don't have the fancy doo dads on the front or stucco. But, it's coming. Your drywall is also finished with the tape and mud applied. I really like the bathroom coming onto the lanai. It's gonna make it really convenient for me to take care of business after a nice party!!!

Hurry up and get here already!!!

Default Omg....carol!!!!!

You would just not believe what's happened to your beautiful, wonderful home! A semi-trailer delivered a huge load of sod yesterday and piled it one lot down from me. I wondered...hmmm...who's that for? Well, guess what????? You have a sodded yard and landscaping!!! When I was there late this afternoon you had a man laying carpet, men putting down your hardwood floors and a bunch of guys putting up the party....uh....birdcage! It is absolutely wonderful!!! I can't wait for you to see you palace!!!

I also met new neighbors today. I was taking the neighborhood watch dog for a constitutional this afternoon and a maroon truck pulls up, window rolls down and a nice man says "Rusty?" I hesitate for a sec (can't recall any warrants out for me) and say "Yep!". Come to find out that the Flintstones have been in town for two weeks and I didn't know it... We talked for quite a while and I found out that another home is gonna be starting in about a week or so. Guys, there's only so much one poor scrawny guy can do. I desperately need some help here!!!!! We had a really, really nice conversation and just confirmed my on-going opinion that we are probably the most blessed group of people that have ever purchased homes in TV. I can't wait until Fred & Wilma get down here...

Our prayers and thoughts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. As I said before, I am so happy that everyone is safe and sound. In times like these you just have to look at what you have instead of what you've lost. Things can, in most instances, be replaced. Husbands, wives, children, relatives and friends cannot. You are all strong and will make it through with a little help from your friends!!!

HotRod: "Jealous" doesn't even begin to describe it! First the granite...now the hardwoods! Talk about a palace! And that birdcage is amazing! Never saw one being constructed before (hats off again to the photographer)...how cools is THAT? So much happening at your house...hard to believe it won't be done next week!

Rusty: Thanks again for the pictures! Can't wait to see the color go on the house! We're pretty jazzed about the lanai also...lots of shade for a better selection of spots for the coolers to be kept in!

Trust me...you aren't far behind. Coopers place has come so far so fast that paint has to be next. You guys are getting soooo close!!!

Everyday when I go to Carol's I expect a locked door. With carpet going in I'd bet that tomorrow is that day. It very well may be that my job there is done...lol. I was so excited when I left her house that I had to call her. I just couldn't contain myself...

That would be like asking a Virginia girl to move to West Virginia. Thank you, but no. I'll stay where I am. Signed, a Virginia Mountain Girl living on the side of TV with years of experience having fun and partying.

(I do love reading your posts and feeling your excitement. May God bless all of you with many years of health and happiness.)

Many thanks (again) for the pictures.

Checking out 'our' thread is the first thing we do every day now over the first cup of tea in the morning!

After reading about the party atmosphere in Gilly, the bathroom off the lanai with outdoor access was what swung the design choice of the 'ELM' for us.

See you all soon

Default Beautiful

What a sight for sore eyes!! Carol your house looks amazing and the birdcage--all I can say is WOW!! That's what Jim has dreamed of but unfortunatly will only have a small version in compassion It's great to see first hand how they put it together--thanks to our expert "Rusty on the spot!" Everyday there's just so much more done on the houses--it makes it fun to come home after a hard day at work and check out the thread Wish we were there to see it in person.

After 2 weeks of covert, infiltrating, private detective work , risking everything during challenging night maneuvers , while accompanied by his ever faithful assistant Gracie , our friend Rusty has completed his mission and the outcome is in the hands of “Big Brother” now . Is the suspense driving you crazy yet?? The results will be posted within 48 hours. You Da Man Rusty.

Before you even ask . . . Yes, I'm Crazy.

Now the clean up begins and then the rebuild. Bright side to this according to hubby is that we won't have as much to pack to move to Fl !!;-)
Rona and Bill,
I was devastated to hear of your sad news. I was so hoping you would return to find things intact. Certainly my prayers are with you and if I could be there to help in any way I definitely would. Is there anything that any of us can do for you from afar? I wish I could be there for you and lend some support, and feel terribly for you and yours. Please know that we all care and are hoping you are able to get things turned around in good time. Please take care of yourselves, recover what you can, and be thankful you are safe. My heart goes out to you and so many others affected by the storm.
