Default It's Official!

Received a call late this morning from the title agency that they had received our signed closing documents, and we are now official Villagers! Although we are in Fernandina, we have met and shared with so many of you on this thread. Your support and encouragement have been instrumental in bringing us to this day. Thank you all! We'll be down the first week in March, so we hope to see many of you then!

Also are there others on this board that like to play Canasta?

Final proposition (and I usually don't proposition strangers......Oh wait you're neighbors, not strangers): In some of the "older", "more established neighborhoods" I understand there are regular "driveway gatherings" (planned events - usually weekly and rotating from house to house. These usually begin at the cocktail hour (5-ish) and I think they include drinks and potluck hors d'ourves (sp?) Is Gilchrist becoming established enough to begin this tradition? I think we're about there, and Dave and I would be glad to share our driveway for the first one. We were thinking maybe Thursday, Feb 28th? Anyone interested?
I am a HUGE mah jongg player (and so is my mom who lives in Tamarind Grove). Count me in! Maybe we can play a time or two when I get there at the end of March...and then I would most definitely be up for something regularly starting in mid-June when I move there permanently!

THERE WILL BE AN ENORMOUS GILLY-BRATION WHEN YOU ARRIVE RONA. I would expect a special decree to be made by the Honorable Mayor and his cart robbing Administrative Assistant with details on the doin's. Maybe we can combine it with the return of ChiefRose and his bride for their closing.

Default Kitty's White House

Kitty . . . your place is looking good . . . and BRIGHT.
They painted it today and WOW . . . . what a glow. We haven't seen that color before. What is it called? Junction 29 had to wear a welders helmet in order to look at it in the sun.

I LOVE canasta and Joe plays some... But he picks up cards games way to fast, meaning how to play not as in pick up games ... I am digging a grave I could regret!
We are coming down on the 28 th to be at the closing on 3/1!!! Cannot wait to attend the first driveway party, have heard about the tradition and hoped we would be in a like neighborhood! Understand that the flamingo marks the house! Plan on us with our wine and appitizer that has fit into the full car coming down from Atlanta, or whatever Publixs has!!! And next day we be FROGS!

Looking forward to meeting you....
We are moving Feb 20, 21 or 22. Our close is Feb 20. Next time we are down there we will look in at your house. It should be mostly done. We are anxious to move in. Our address is 1351 Kilgore. We are on the northwest side of Kilgore. I am looking forward to meeting you too.
When you come down, come knock on our door. Take care. Gayle

And we extended the driveway, and many other things you suggested...thanks again...can't wait to meet you.

Marcy and Bruce

Was just thinking about you two when I saw your message. Glad things went well. What is your closing date?

I was thinking about trying Mahjong. I play it online all the time but I think it is totally different. If you are going tomorrow to Bradenton, let me know. I will be able to go. Thanks Meredith. Gayle

Believe it or not that rosy glow is misnamed "bagel"--you hit right on the reason for selecting it. BRIGHT and cheery. Thanks for the update.
